Our police are awful, PC Foster was arrogant and incompetent in equal measures. Once again this demonstrates that the police are hugely overstaffed when they can afford to allow four officers to hang around harassing a member of the public purely because they felt their authority was threatened. It was an embarrassment went they all had to slink away at the end having achieved absolutely nothing. The Police Authorities should review this video when they next ask why the public have lost respect and trust in the police.

@@debatable1984Auditors have done a great job of exposing the widespread ignorance among UK cops and security staff regarding the right to film what you can see from a public place but these videos definitely show them toning down their attitude. They're only at their worst when they're sure they're not being filmed. I've been pushed around, screamed at to my face military drill sargent style, almost had a car door slammed into my leg before I could get it back in the car as a passenger when my friend got pulled over and then told I'm the obnoxious one, all for a polite ID refusal. After all that, I can honestly say I'd rather they stick to gum chewing, hands in pockets, uniform discrepancies, tattoos and loitering. This isn't good enough either and clearly shows that they don't respect the public but they are a whole different level of abusive when you don't have a camera and while I'd rather they just hire better people, I'm glad the cameras can be used to keep them in check to an extent.

It's crazy to think that these scumbags get paid by us and as soon as they eff up, we have to pay for it again, that's why we got to make them personally liable, then maybe they would do their jobs properly! Mr Foster doesn't seem to like doing his proper job. That's why he wastes 45 minutes standing around doing nothing rather than get in the van to go and collect a person who has been arrested. He seems to think detaining someone and trying to get their details outwith arrest is more important than supporting his colleagues who are waiting for their prisoner to be collected.

After watching more of the recording it is absolutely clear that this Constable is not fit for purpose. He has neither the ability to interact with an innocent member of the public conducting a legal activity, nor to communicate in a professional manner without being arrogant, small minded and ego driven. What would IOPC make of this. This behaviour is mirrored by a lot of recordings. It is obvious that the MET has the same issues here as being institutionally racist.🙁😡😤

@77news97 British police officers need "reasonable grounds" to conduct a search, i.e. they must genuinely believe they will find the articles they are searching for. It's debatable whether that was the case here and this legislation is often abused.
