8:30 If some random person had my personal details I wouldn't be concerned since they would have it as part of their job and they know that they have to protect it under GDPR laws otherwise they lose their job and the directors at their employer will get punished. However, if John or some other member of the police had my personal details I would be very concerned because the police (and their staff) think they above the laws of the land and ignore GDPR and would share my personal details with others and misuse it for their own personal benefit and ego.

It's exceptionally rare to come across a police officer who doesn't raise the conflict between them and the general public. From what I've seen, they just love to escalate the encounter enough for them to search you, demand your ID or even arrest you. I think a lot of it is down to their ego, if you challenge their "authority" they spit their dummies out, call for back up, lie, handcuff you etc. ALWAYS film any encounter your unlucky enough to have with the police.
