Music scanner! I love how you giggled at my question. : ) I'll definitely look into it! Thanks!!! It can sometimes be hard to get a hold of someone to play for me to prepare.

I know that you're not able to go to any physical auditions rn because of Covid, but I was hoping that maybe you could do a tour of your audition book and talk a bit about how you get it ready for auditions. -also, you are living my dream and I absolutely love your videos!!

Loved this video! Definitely subscribing! Also, my advice for finding monologues is to read as many plays as possible! Whenever you’re at a library or bookstore look for scripts to read! And keep track of monologues you like by talk pictures, buying the script and flagging it, etc. And then, hold on to old monologues (even from plays you’ve been in) and as long as a director hasn’t seen you do that monologue before, it’s free game to repeat it a ton

Great video! I have advice for finding monologues! Whenever you read a play and you come across a monologue you love keep it. Also monologue compilation books are incredible but just make sure they are compilations from reputable plays. Also only play parts that are your age range. I majored in Theatre and it helped me immensely to use these tips👌🏻

What’s the most efficient way of finding audition material ? (I feel like I can never find anything that fits my voice and what I could be cast as) because I can find songs tag fit my acting style but it’s not in my vocal range or if I can sing a song comfortably It doesn’t not my acting style. Any tips will help!
@JessMedley5 жыл бұрын
You can always sing a song in a different key! I like to find theatre artists that have similar types to me, and look at the work that they have done in the past! It’s helps me build my own rep!

These videos are so good! Can you make a video about your process through DCP or how to become a Disney character attendant?

hello! do you remember if you got a confirmation email after you checked in online and (if they asked you) submitted a selfie on the website? I'm preparing for an audition right now and the first round is a video submission; I just want to make sure I did it right. thanks!

Do you have any tips on what to wear to a non-signing acting audition for Disney? I’m thinking of going to one coming up for one of the seasonal shows, but I have no idea whether to wear dance wear or business casual!

Hi Jess! You mentioned that you used the song Santa Baby for your audition. Would it be reasonable to use a Christmas song for a Christmas show audition for community theatre? My community theatre is really bad at specifying what types of songs they want. ;)

Depends on the song! I have a lot of music, but if I don’t, I usually have to pay for it!

Do you say "so" with a NZ accent at @ 4:36 ?!?! Bc I actually do that all the time and drive my friends crazy hahaha but never had heard someone else do it. Might be hearing it wrong though :P

I’d say it’s more Australian, but yes oh definitely. I do it all the time hahaha

This is such a weird question but is there a reason that you go by Jessica Medley? Would you ever legally change it? LOVE these videos, they really help destress me before auditions!

Hi Jess, I know you must be crazy busy with all your jobs and projects, but I sent you a dm a little while ago thanking you for being one of my inspirations to adopt a plant based diet. Thank you for living by example, and I really do apologize if I'm overstepping any social media boundaries. I truly wish you the best on pursuing the wishes your heart makes, or as Cindy would call 'em: dreams 💤💞❤️
