I agree absolute brilliance - there’s nothing that’s come close to this in 40 years. So many memories with my dad who is a Geordie bricklayer. I remember when work dried up in the northeast and he had to go away to Germany a couple of times , this just warms my heart 😊

I always come back to this now and again , great childhood memories watching it with me dad who’s a Geordie bricklayer ☺️ the show is still the best tv show ever written absolute genius. All the memories just come flooding back - lovely 😃

Never bettered. Pure classic writing and acting at its best. Close to 40 years since the first series, it is still funny today and much love. Never ages and watch it often when I need a pick up. Classic. Never get a better bunch of actors for sure.

I always thought Auf Wiedersehen Pet was a protest series about Thatcherism in the 80's. It was a depressing time for many people and the series showed how 7 brickies had leave the country to find work.

Did the very same thing in engineering in the 80s. Moved 450 miles from home for a job back in my trade, This series was so real on so many fronts .

Best music for any British TV program EVER !!! :D There was a lot of redundancies and recession at the time and this seemed to make us feel that there was happier times ahead and gave us all hope 😊😊😊

Love it with a passion! It always stands up to repeat viewing. I'd love to see the writing team do something similar again. i.e. funny, plenty of regional accents.

As far as I’m concerned this finished after series 2.we have no Wayne Barry ballooned into a slob, Dennis is on his way to playing drag,poor bomber looks terrible,and as for oz he looks worse than bomber.
