@@hansloyalitat9774 they actually didn’t fall apart it was mostly just swallowed up. It’s economy throughout its life was pretty alright to good. But it was so terribly United with the west and poorly rushed to reunification. Through the chaos caused both by outside influences and no control over the situation. Most businesses were bought up and shut down by western corporations. Individual news organizations of the east were easily destroyed by the west mega manipulated news networks. The same goes with most businesses leaving behind a shambles modern eastern Germany. Instead of reunifying as equals one was exploited of the resources it had left.

@@astrocatsoft eastern Germany beginning goals were reunification. But later on had to move goals to grow strong. During its whole life span it still wanted reunification with the west, but as equals. Sadly that was not the case and upon the poorly executed reunification process caused by many factors. The east was no treated as equals but instead just gobbled up by the west keep none of the east stuff. Even not keeping the better things east Germany had.

Germany could remove and change stuff from the East German government following reunification but I think we could all agree they should have kept this as their new national anthem, gives a more positive feeling of unity and a hope for a better future id say in my opinion, then Über alles (which is also good but more in favor of this one like what alternate history hub said)
