season two tanking with an augment was one of the more fun times to be a tank. For good or bad I loved aug being added but that is just from my personal experience.

Ideally I thought that the new "support" role was perfect for the dps only specs to get that ability to do more than just dps. I think Blizzard is slow rolling it and experimenting with season of discovery on other classes that can be other roles. It was a mistake to only release this new role and have only one option, similar to in vanilla and Horde was the only one with Bloodlust.

@@carril54i like idea feel like aug was faluire but feel if add new class in future i think can't do what did with aug add mid point feel in way thats what killed it. add new class with 3 specs 2 support focus one healer that also focus buffs so instead on down time damaging people focus on buffing others. dps support focus on off healing ALL IN BUFF not werid hybrid that evoker was. tank spec that range tank spec which actually surpirse not tried could spell caster tank in retail

i can assume the non AUG players are only bothered by his personal DPS not the utility he provides, lets be honest, wow players are all horny for numbers and they only judge you by that, you can die 50 times in a raid, but hey as long as you do your burst good, you are forgiven, but an AUG gets kicked for low dps despite playing the bosses perfect and didnt die. AUG is only as good as the guys he tries to support. So jeah you are not stuck with an bad AUG in your party, he is stuck with people that cant make full use of his buffs. I normaly ignore the outburst over the class and ignore the dmg whores. And i spend my energy on the people that invite me in M+ and even say "nice we have a AUG" I don't think the spec is a failure, and overall "we have enough tanks and melees, stop asking for more of those idiots" support is just not for everyone, its for the people that love to well "support" and want to help. And support dps gives you just that if you are not into healing. I mean sry thats the idea, he compensates his own in compare lower dps by making everyone else stronger. when people complain about "low skill floor/ceiling" i present Beastmasters, Ret Paladins, Havocs and Furrys. Literally unga bunga If we could improve AUG: maybe more options to increase his personal dps, an additional charge for his buff, and increase the scaling on his buffs. Just important to not make him TOO STRONG otherwise he will be mandatory in every single group. (and teach people how to properly read DPS numbers out) AUG is one of the more interesting specs in the game for me, i enjoy it a lot.

all aug does it make the highest keys smoother. 20s, 25s its not needed at all. As a healer though, in S2 having an aug did make runs more fun, to the point I only did runs with an aug just to push my own numbers.

At this point, they just need more support specs and just make the new meta include a support. That, or make aug a tank. Otherwise, it will either be mandatory or irrelevant in m+.

I'll give you that aug doesn't take a ton of skill to perform it's rotation but I wouldn't say it doesn't have a massive skill ceiling. The amount of work it takes in raid to be playing the classes well is crazy. From tracking at least 8 peoples active cooldowns and cycling your buffs on some one different at almost all times to make sure you are not just buffing someone that is basically in their auto attack phase of game play takes so much effort. There is a reason in the top .1% guilds they can be the best spec in the game but in top 1% to 10% guilds they are only just middle of the road to being completely pointless in the top 50% does mean they have a massive ceiling.

I think that opening up the video talking about how problematic Augmenation is, only to highlight how "Even now their power level isn't as big as a few months ago" proves that with simple balancing they can change the perspective and narrative about how augmentation feels. Using the data that you're referencing, previous seasons have skewed representation in EVERY role. The problem was everywhere. You could argue that's because of augmenation, but that would only result in classes getting buffed over the following weeks (or nerfs to aug itself). The articulation of support has always been "if you add up the damage they bring, its really good." Aug just shows the damage it does. However the problem that aug has is that it has too much control over whom it buffs. Aug is still played in higher keys because they all know that its buffs are invaluable to a group that knows what they are doing. i would argue most people have no idea how to play with augmentation evokers, but when you do its obvious that you can abuse their power.

Aug was fun in s2. I pushed to 25, 26s. Took about 6 weeks off for the start of s3. Coming back Aug is not nearly as powerful. Yes, I use omni to watch my partied CDs. I stopped playing Aug. I stopped inviting Augs to my keys. I only pug, and it's too much of a gamble that 2/3 dps spots can synergies together. I just invite 3 dps classes.

Even WRF guilds had always 2 augs in raid, all top guilds got 2 in raid. Max told once that they tested raid w/o augs and wit augs.... It eas a lot faster with 2 augs... If some classes geting nerfs that doesn't mean they suck....

Back to my tank I realised that Aug brings nothing worthwhile to my tank experience and every time someone invites one I just roll my eyes and puff my disappointment. Aug (and to a lesser extent, preservation) was a WTF are they thinking moment in WoW. Aug is fundamentally broken, and it wasn't very difficult to see that even before it was on live. Preservation's range limits are also a spec defect that has mostly fallen under the radar, but it will be unignorable when we finally get the "nobody can stand near anyone else" fights.

The only way to do a support spec and make it fit well, it needs to be its own spec in raids/parties and there should be multiple classes that can do it. That way they actually have a balance bar and would be able to balance support classes with other support classes instead of dps!

I love the idea of Augmentation. It's nice to have a spec that has a low skill ceiling and get can the less mechanical players involved and invited. The problem is that it's just OP, tone it down to middle of the pack and it would be a great spec for the prior reasons.

Aug was never a good idea from a game balance perspective. It will either be too OP, or too weak. Support spec(s) will be canned eventually (after they finally realize that there isn't anything they can do about it), the only question is how long they are willing to let the travesty linger.

Aug was a mistake for 5 man content/m plus. If a support spec is ever average or above average in performance it permanently gains a spot in the most competitive and populated role DPS. Support specs are tolerable if they are always preforming worse than actual DPS so imo Support specs are a waste of development for 5 man content/m plus unless they are always under-tuned so they are tolerable and not OP like in DF Season 2.

Support classes need to be good at one thing or the other. Having a support class buff DPS and defensives was a bad move. There just needs to be more options and maybe 6 man M+ content. Aug needs to be a DPS increase in dmg and they need to add a spec/class that buffs defensives

Unironically Augmentation probably ruined the game for a lot of people. Between the unwanted DPS players for the rest of the season, the people told to reroll to pride month dragons or lose a raid spot back when they were stackable, and the fall out it led to with countless guilds.

@@sinnis4993 They've said theyt have no intention of removing Aug as a support spec. So either you add other ones or Evoker is just Aug from here on out. There is no reason to ever bring a Dev or Preserv because Aug exists and there is no other option there. Pures constantly have 1 spec that is either hard to balance or sucks in pve, easy change to make them into a support spec. This also provides those classes with a "group spec" role they can swap to like other classes can swap to tank or healer if they want easier grouping. It is absolutely, without question, the exact thing blizzard should do if they are going to keep a support spec in the game. You being salty and childish about it doesn't chagne that fact.

aug is a mistake. the sooner they scrap it the better. evoker was a mistake. should have been either three different support specs that each buff only one role dps(blue/yellow)/heal(green/red)/tank(black) or should have filled the roles dps/heal/tank. the former would only work in raid tho. it's just a straight effing brick for 5 man content where there isn't a spot for support. and if you do force it to be 6 man content, now you're effing waiting 20 mins for a stupid evoker who may or may not be worth it because now the dungeons will be tuned to the point where the dragon player has to be good. it's stupid. classic blizz lose/lose situation
