Absolutely love how you do your budget and the whole idea about why it is important for the person that plans, shops and cooks to manage the money related to this as well. Being organized in this way for all aspects of our lives is what many of us are missing and consequently feeling that we fail. Without doubt a planning and organizing mindset is the foundation of an abundant lifestyle. Grateful for your videos.💛

I have been binge watching your videos and I enjoy them so very much. They bring peace to me. Your voice, your demeanor and your love for your family shows in your dedication to them. I would love and I mean absolutely love to do as you do, but I can't count on myself to stick with cooking. I have health problems and I think I have watched enough to assume that you do too?? However, you manage to cook daily and I will be honest with you...I manage to cook maybe 2 times a week and it is killing us financially and health wise. I have had this feeling to ask for you to pray for me and I wanted to do it in a private forum, however, I am so not computer savy...so this will have to suffice. I have need of great prayer and I feel every time I watch your videos a sense of calm peace that only comes from Jesus. Thank you so much for all the effort you put in to making others cook better, feel better and live better. Blessings, Nina
@TheQueensCabinet6 жыл бұрын
Wow Nina, I just read your comment and I am so humbled. Among the most important prayers is "Teach me to love You above all else". When we truly desire God, when we want His will realized and when we ask for what brings Glory to Him, He is eager to give us anything we may want. The role of homemaker is so important to God,so much that my channel name QueensCabinet is a nod towards Queen Esther's encouragement for us homemakers. I do have some health issues, but I try and break down bigger tasks into smaller tasks. When I have to take a break, I gives thanks for what I was able to accomplish. One thing that helps me is meal planning. I generate my grocery list, from it and use it like an architect would use a blueprint. I glance at it before I go to bed, so if I need to thaw meat overnight I remember to do that. If I am serving tacos, I might make some salsa early in the day and rest if I need to. Each little thing that gets accomplished through out the day, adds up to big results. My prayer for you is to start each day with a grateful heart!! To be able to see all the positive in any situation. Try and think of something positive even when you may not be feeling well; it changes your thinking, allows you to be more productive and makes you happier. Having a plan, even if it is peanut butter and jelly, can also save so much money and be healthier too. Pray within His will, persistently, unselfishly and in faith, you will receive what you need. Much love and Blessings Shelby

@Jules12806 жыл бұрын
Ok here we go: Hawaiian Baked Beans Preheat oven 350 Bake 30-45 min 1 can lima beans (all cans are the 14-15 oz unless stated otherwise) 1 can kidney ( dark red) 1 can baked beans (Bushes is fine) 6-7 slices bacon 1 med onion diced 2 tbsp. worcestershire 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup ketchup 1 small can chunk pineapple (can use the tidbits too) 1 tbsp. maple syrup (optional) Drain lima and kidney beans, fry bacon, sauté onion in grease. Mix first 5 ingredients in a dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients. Heat to a boil on med/high heat stirring occasionally so not to burn bottom. Put in lightly greased 13x9x2 pan. (I use the bacon grease with a paper towel to grease) Cover lightly with foil and take foil off last 5 to 10 min to brown top. This makes approx; 6 to 8 healthy servings, this is a crowd pleaser. It really tastes better the next day, great for left overs. I have never tried this in a crockpot but I bet it would be easy. Hope your family likes this as much as mine does. I get asked to bring this to family get togethers or my mom's pumpkin pies. :)

Season with salt and pepper, to taste; set aside. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Spread 1 cup mushroom sauce onto the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish; top with 4 lasagna noodles, 1/2 of the ricotta cheese, 1/2 of the spinach, half the parsley, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup Parmesan. So jealous of your stores meat prices. I might faint if I saw those prices in metro Atlanta grocery stores. Totally off topic, I would love to hear your thought processes on how you will be designing some of your gardens-cutting, veggie, herbs.
@TheQueensCabinet6 жыл бұрын
Brenda I am doing a back to Eden garden, I don't want to have to till or pull too many weeds. I asked a cow farmer for manure, he said I could have all I wanted. I found a cheap source for wood chips and have been saving all my delivery boxes. So once we get the different layers in, we will let the garden sit over the winter and it will be ready to plant in the spring. I hope to design it like a potager; part cutting flowers, part herbs part veggies. I'm thinking of four foot blocks with walk spaces in between. We are putting in 240 evergreens, next week. Finally getting around to some fun projects!

Donna thanks for asking, I am more tired than anything. We have too many projects going on right now. We are finishing up the solar/generator install, planting 240 evergreens, getting ready to plant an orchard, putting in the wood broiler, domestic water to the garage, septic for garage bathroom, installed propane tanks for generator and garage, prepped the lot for the pond, we are hosting a wedding reception, and getting the garden plot ready for next spring.....I'm just a little tired. I told Ken no more new projects, we are working harder now than when we worked. :D Plus a house we carried the mortgage on is selling in California, so it seems we are at the notary at least twice a week. Plus, it has taken me awhile to recover from my mom passing in April. I hope in a a month or so things will have calmed down. Hugs girlfriend!

Melissa I use mostly 3 knife; a chef, paring and bread knife (serrated). Wusthof knives will last a lifetime, and are a great investment. Kind of along the same principle, quality over quantity, All Clad have great pots and pans. LOL ... I thought the Kahlua pork would have Kahlua in it, but pork taco's are my favorite, had some out yesterday and where we go you can get them "Mexican Style" or American ... I like the Mexican style topped with raw onion, cilantro and spicy sauce that they make ... relish, but I'm going to try your pork for sure. We are just 3 of us, but my daughter eats at her boyfriends most evenings, so I'm struggling to learn to cook for two without too much leftover as we just never quite finish it all up. I am trying to also learn to meal plan a bit, I think it will make it easier for us to shop once a week instead of every other day and shopping on a whim, whatever strikes our fancy, the other day I spent $11.93 for cherries, I walked out thinking something is wrong with the price I just paid, thats when I realized the price had changed not he cherries, but almost $3 a pound, yikes, I brought them home, but I'll be way more careful. As always thanks for your meal plan and lovely recipes, I'm hungry now.

what's the difference between regular oregano and mexican oregano? looks delicious! I'm considering canceling my Hello Fresh and keeping up with your meals! Also do you fry those shells? I need to quite watching these at bedtime lol. I'm hungry!

Great question Amy, I believe the Mexican oregano has notes of citrus and anise. I do fry the shells so they are crispy but still pliable. Hope you are having a great week. Shelby

How many are you serving? We have 4 so I'm trying to do that math. An almost 5 pound roast only lasts one meal for us with usually some left overs for two for lunch.

Jen we cooked a whole pork butt, I want to say it was about ten pounds; we have 6 in our family. Shelby

Taylor I lost 25 pounds and when My mom passed in April things were hectic and I stopped. However, I want to loose an additional 25 pounds before next summer because Ken and I are going on a cruise. I just need to restart. How have you been doing??

I do $250 for 6 each week but I do the same. I keep my surplus separate and it is mine to spend on household items as needed. One year I was able to hit a good sale on chest freezers and got 2, that gave me more room for bulk shopping so I save even more

Ive never had tomatillos before. Never seen them around here but now I am kinda wondering about them..

Naomi I like 50 percent tomatillos and 50 percent Pablanos in my tomatillo sauce. I think it balances the tartness. Shelby
