Man, JFK was one sharp-looking dude! The hair, the suit and sunglasses. The man had style.

He was keenly aware that "the old sex appeal" carried a lot of weight, wasn't a clothes horse but could hang with Peter Lawford's friends. Hollywood male leads never had enough good looks to carry a movie about him.

@@raoulbataller5454 Cliff Robertson was a good-looking enough actor to play the 26-yr--old Kennedy in "PT-109" (rel on June 19, 1963). Kennedy personally picked Robertson to play himself, as he set three conditions on the film: that it be historically accurate, that profits go to the survivors of the PT 109 and their families, and that he would have the final choice of lead actor. He selected and then met with Robertson after viewing the screen tests. Robertson was actually 6 years younger (b. Sep. 9, 1923) than Kennedy on his birth year, but was 39 in filming it when he played JFK at 26 for that Aug. 1943 key event in Kennedy's WW2 life. It didn't matter on the 13-year age difference in how good a choice it was. Cliff died the day after his 88th birthday, on Sep. 10, 2011.

There was a mini series on TV called Reckless Youth, it was about JFK's life from childhood to he was elected to the congress. Patrick Dempsey portrayed the young Kennedy, and did a great job, even got the Boston accent (Dempsey is from Maine) and more realistic than Robertson, since he was closer to the age of Kennedy when he portrayed him. I think the series was from the early nineties.@@freeguy77

A President proving his worth as a son and father. For all his human frailties, he still stands tall as a model for close family ties.Bringing his children along to visit his father is his way of teaching by example the value of family relationships.

@@conniechow819 Same, and I was a pre-teen during his presidency, and never forgot where I was and heard on television (1:38pm ET / 12:38pm CT) his shocking murder on that momentous USA-changing event on that dark Friday afternoon. Also, those two big-city local papers in large, black type special issues later that night: "KENNEDY IS DEAD" and the other said: "KENNEDY IS SLAIN." The USA has never recovered its previous greatness, its moral compass, or its outstanding culture in arts or music shortly after that date. Ground forces of regular army and Marines invasion of S. Vietnam started on Mar. 8, 1965, by his corrupt, and power-mad successor, who wanted to be known as a "great wartime president." Kennedy wanted peace with the old USSR and Cuba with back-channel peace feeling overtures in Sep.-Nov. 1963, but his successor wanted war! Until November 22, 1963, presidents routinely rode in open cars. Also, the famous "bubbletop" wasn't bulletproof. A far cry from today, when presidents tool around in armored limousines, and wall themselves off from the public. . . .

Ron Heinzmann, Lyndon Johnson fit the description of a selfish, vulgar, skirt chasing man than Kennedy would a million times. He had more love affairs than Kennedy and was ugly to boot. If it's anyone you should talk against is Johnson. He sent young soldiers to their deaths in the quagmire of Vietnam. Didn't you lose a relative in Vietnam?
