Love the reverse color alongs on ‪@snickerdoodlingllc‬ channel. Your coloring is beautiful as always. Love how you colored the owl. Have you ever heard of using DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint, Lamp Black color for very dark black matte backgrounds? It works super good. You wont see the brush marks..... if when you put new paint on the brush you blend and smooth it out with the part you left off with. You most likely already knew that.💖 I like using it after the page is colored. Love your color alongs, looking forward to seeing the new ones. Thanks so much for sharing you talent. Hi there! Yes, I’ve used the acrylic paint for backgrounds, however, I just seem to get it into the image and have a hard time not making a mess of it! 😆 I’m happy that my videos have been helpful! Thanks so much for the feedback! 🤗

@@jenscoloringcorner I can completely relate! I tend to save other people’s colored pages on Pinterest (totally addicted) and sometimes I try to make certain elements similar or even the same, or combine different things from different pictures. It helps me experiment and use techniques or colors I normally wouldn’t. OR Sometimes when I can’t get someone else’s finished page out of my head I will ask my husband or son how I should color the page and branch off from there LOL 😂

I just love your pages! Thinking of exploring with markers... alcohol Vs water-based? I have limited budget.

Thank you! So, if you were trying to decide between alcohol markers and water-based, I would suggest water-based. You will be able to use the water-based on most double-sided pages (unless it’s on Amazon printed paper…make sure to test first). They may be a little bit more versatile for you. Especially if you buy pastel colors. With the alcohol markers, they can only be used on single-sided paper. They soak through much more. Hope that helps! 😊

@@FredaGodinez Thank you! Well for basing under pencils, I would suggest the pastel set. You want colors that are light to match your highlights. Hope that answers your question! 😊

Hi Jen. I would like to use my Gellyroll pens more but I have a problem with them. They stopped working! It seems that the trouble may start after I try to use them over pencil. How do I get my pens and paint markers to work if the clog or stop?!

@@wendyjo6233 Hi Wendy. It is sometimes hard to get jelly roll pens to work properly over pencil, especially if it’s a wax-based pencil like prismacolors. I find that I usually have to continuously clean them off on a scratch piece of paper as I am using them to keep the ink flowing. If they’re just not working at all, maybe they’re old and dried up? Paint markers can be temperamental sometimes, too. I always pull out the nib and rinse it under the sink with just water to clean off the dried paint, then dry it and put it back in the pen. Also shaking your paint markers for a good couple of minutes to get them flowing REALLY helps. I hope that answered your questions! 😊
