Awwww hunny all the books in the liveship traders are bigger than the biggest book in the farseers trilogy. Also the first book in the liveship traders series is avegare because its a set up book but the rest are amazing.

Happy Belated Birthday. I just read House of Salt and Sorrow and loved it. You are correct in that it's a Twelve Dancing Princesses retelling. Just to warn you there are elements within the book that can be seen as horror. I am not a horror fan myself, and found it more spooky and atmospheric, but I know everyone has different thresholds so again just a warning. I look forward to your review for that one.

I just read House of Salt and Sorrow, and it wasn’t for me. It felt like there were four versions of the book (pyscological horror, whimsical fairy tale, family drama, and romance) that were crammed together without actually blending together. Like characters would talk and react a certain way in one part (say the family drama, and there’s arguing and tension), and all of that would be gone once another version came to play , like the previous scene never happened. Also, the romance took up way too much of the book, and it was so stale and boring thanks to insta-love and the uninteresting guy. The psychological horror aspect was cool when it appeared in the book, and kept me reading
