It was so much fun meeting everyone😊 I know my sister Charlie has raved about house of doors so I hope you enjoy it. I loved secrets of Hartwood hall and it’s probably my best book of the year 😊

I loved meeting everyone book-shopping. I said I was not getting involved with Booker, but then I bought Prophet Song. The fomo is real. So happy to have discovered your channel through the meet up.

I am doing The readalong in September with Charlie & Charlie. I have ordered What You Are Looking For Is In Thw Library after watching everyone book hauls from London. I read Hex last year and quite enjoyed it .

Ahh excellent! Yes I’m very easily influenced so I’ve loved seeing everyone’s book hauls from that day! Looking forward to reading all three of these books!

It was brill and I hope we get to chat next time! I also didn’t take many photos or much footage so I’ve been enjoying watching everyone’s book hauls and vlogs. Lisa is so lovely! I wanted to walk to Daunt but my feet were done in by that point. Mrs S sounds great. Loved The Secrets of Hartwood Hall. I’ve actually wanted to read some Mary Oliver for some time - I don’t read much poetry but hers is very beautiful. ‘What you are looking for is in the library’ sounds so good. Ooo None of the Above supposed to be great. Ahhh - I really enjoyed Hex. Very poetic and very short. House of Doors sounds excellent. It was such a great day! Looking forward to another one! ❤

Yes that was the only trouble with there being so many of us, I didn't get round to talking to everyone so hope we can do another one again soon! Ah glad to hear you enjoyed Hex! I love a bit of poetic writing so hopefully it'll be my kind of thing! Hopefully see you soon at another meetup!

I live in the 🇺🇸 and I have the US copy of Katie’s book. I find it interesting that the American cover is different. Thank you for telling me about the readathon.

Ooo yes I always find the cover differences between the UK and US edition’s fascinating! Hope you’ll be joining in with the readathon! 😊

Thank you for mentioning Hex. When it first came out, there wasn’t an ebook copy available in the US. I just checked again and I bought it. I am dying to read The House of Doors but it will not be available in the US until mid October. I think a lot of people were surprised about the Booker Prize longlist.

I read The Painted Veil by Maugham and loved it. It is a small book.

@@anitahayne8621 yeah I haven't seen many people talk about Hex so I'm intrigued to give it a go. Yes, definitely! I had only heard of one book when the longlist was announced and that was A Spell of Good Things so all the others were new to me!
