I’m extremely late on this but, as someone who grew up with an absent father who abused the hell out of me and my mom whenever he was around, he left back overseas, what people don’t understand is, while yes it gets better and you learn to deal with it, the after effects of it still fuck with you to this day, it doesn’t matter how much therapy you go through, doesn’t matter how good your life becomes, one day those memories will come back and haunt you again, and it’ll hit hard and you’ll be in a situation where you don’t know if you’ll ever be okay, and it puts you in this constant fight or flight mode, no parent should EVER put their fucking hands on their child, there’s a fine line between physical discipline and straight abuse, and people blur those lines at times, I hope my story reaches those that think they can’t make it another day, I should be one of those that are living proof that you can, you have to outlive your enemies, take that hate and turn it into a passion that you love, stay legendary everyone.
