Nice! As far as the last video with the high Mite count, It could very well be that the OA is doing its job and the mites are being brought in by the robbing of an infested feral hive. A hive that may be in the verge of absconding or even collapse, therefore bringing in a steady supply of fresh mites. Phillip Hall

First, thank you for your videos, the good stuff as well as the bad stuff. Very well rounded, hsve learned so much. I have one question about splits, what do you do when you can't support any more additional hives? Do you just let them swarm and be done with it? I live in an agricultural area and it could support more bees but i am not sure i can handle more bees. Thanks again for your excellent videos.

Hey Gail thanks for watching. If you get to that point I would just buy a queen and make some splits to sell as nucs. This will provided income to further support your hobby and give a good little colony to another beekeeper

when bee emerges from cell eats a bit of honey then goes cleans out the cell. Are they preparing the cell for the queen to lay in again or will bees store honey in that cell? thanks!

Hi kamon, i currently have 1 hive that I'm over wintering and i have just purchased another 2 hives. What would be the best way to go about putting colony's in my new empty hives? Should i build up my over wintered colony until summer and make 2 splits or should i do a split in late spring to prevent a swarm and then make another split in the summer? Thanks

when you pull a frame of brood to go into not as strong colony are you taking bees with you that are on brood frame or do you shake frame of bees in original box?

I do it in a heartbeat if I need to also, just not ignorant about it...

You take the frame with the queen on it out,you cant kill her with inspection of the rest of the hive. If you stick her in an empty box,she make walk off the frame. You prop her frame up outside the hive,she'll usually be on the shaded side of the frame.

Hey andrew we raise our own mated queens for our splits.
