Hi C Mastracci , yea I agree with you cutting lumber in the cold is not fun . I know when I cut I’m very particular about making sure it’s right. I hate to cut a piece out and it’s not right. The old saying is measure twice and cut once. I always measure four or five times L O L. When I cut I’ll put the pieces together to make sure they are the same size. Sounds like you got a lot of work to do. I do like the bushes you put in. It makes the scenery pop. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. Looking forward to seeing updates on the future of the layout. 😎😎 👍

I love your channel, and more so, your awesome layout. The autumn foliage you have displayed is something similar to what I envisioned for my small, shelf switching layout. What type of trees do you use for all the colorful foliage you have. I need to scour your videos to see if you have a tutorial for autumn tree making. Great job!

The tress are largely Scenic Express Super Trees with the same firm's Super Leaf flocking. It's really the best thing out there for making trees. I do have several videos on trees.

You have made great progress so far the bench work looks good. Can't say I blame you about cutting wood in the cold. Looking forward to the expansion series, bench work always seems to be rushed and if the base is not great the track will have issues. looks like you have a solid plan.

i've always hated bench work... and then always paid the price for rushing it. it's a vicious cycle. today i built a section, realized too late i made a mistake, had to cut a bunch of pieces over. wasn't happy about it, but now it's built correctly so while i made little progress - at least i know it's right. that 2" difference would have plagued my isle way forever. better day tomorrow!

Any of your DDC wiring work that you could film and talk about while you’re doing it would be very helpful

AK makes some really nice products…you used them expertly…seems like a daunting task over the next few months but, you got this…

Thanks. Yes, i really like AK's line of diorama materials and their paints, washes, and terrain pastes are really nice. Expensive if you're trying to do an entire layout with them but great results for small areas.

The bushes really look nice and add just the right amount of visual "pop" to the scenes. I always find it a challenge in N scale to get the right balance of detail without making it too "fiddley" and overdone. Looking forward to a bit more info on these items in an upcoming video (if I understood you right?). 👍

Who made your trailer train cars and where did you find all your construction heavy equipment?
@AlleghenyNorthern3 ай бұрын
The Roadrailers are made by Deluxe Innovations which has been out of business some ten years or more now. You'll need to find them at train shows now from someone selling them second hand. Most of the heavy equipment was 3D printed from Shapeways who went defunct in July of this year. Sorry for the 0 in 2 score on this one.

@AlleghenyNorthern now that the roadrailers are no more they'll likely start making them again or the new version that their changing them too

12:46 where did you get the bulk materials trailer from?
@AlleghenyNorthern3 ай бұрын
the one under the mobile conveyor is from shapeways - i don't know where you'd get them now. the one behind the orange tractor is a Trainworx model. you'll have better luck trying to find that one at a train show as that was last year's run.

I have a question… What is better? A Scaletrains sd40-2 or a Broadway limited sd40-2? Because I know the Scaletrains has some problems with railrubbing and I was wondering how bad some of the problems are on the models and which one you would recommend
@AlleghenyNorthern3 ай бұрын
I made the terrible mistake of purchasing two of the BLI models and I absolutely hate them. They have sound issues, one arrived missing an entire set of gears from the motor to the wheels and were plagued by general operation issues. I have six of the ScaleTrains SD40-2 and will likely pick up a few that i'm missing - like the BN and CSX units. The first batch ran a little low but if your track is in good shape and well installed, you won't have any issues. ScaleTrains over BLI hands down.
