Wanted to add a comment about the watch movement. It uses the Seiko / SII / Hattori PC21J. This movement is essentially the most inexpensive current Seiko "ladies" movement available. It's not particularly less good than the PC32A, but it's a narrower movement, and I suspect this was needed for it to fit properly in the tank movement. They could have easily done a PC32A, but I figure this was probably just cheaper for them.

From a distance at least, your August Steiner looks ok. I've picked up loads of these cheap Chinese watches from charity shops, car boot sales etc. God knows why, but I keep buying them.

I saw the original when I was out of college... I think 2000 or 2001 or something? I've seen a couple of the others since then. That's actually another hobby of mine. I used to work on cars... a lot. I've restored a few. I've had a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, a 1984 Porsche 944, a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado, a 1981 Pontiac TransAm with an Olds 455 big block, a 1982 Pontiac TransAm, a 1976 Camaro LT 350, a 2002 Volkswagen 1.8T, a 2006 Pontiac Solstice 5-Speed, a bunch of Pontiac Fieros, and a Volkswagen Bus. I still have the Bus, my 87 Fiero V6, and the Olds 455 big block sitting on an engine stand. One day... I haven't wrenched in almost a decade. I have a Ford Explorer, and that's what I tool around in now... ahah. But I really want to buy something and drop my Olds 455 big block in it. I punched it out to a 468 with TRW .040 overbore forged pistons, a nodular forged crank, roller cam with Crane gold race rollers (rocker arms), enormous intake valves 2.11:1 intake and 1.79:1 exhaust, huge "C" heads, a rochester 850 CFM QuadraJet... I mean, it's sick... over 600 foot pounds of torque, with an 11.25:1 compression. I just need a car to put it in!

Hahah, I know. I only picked it because I remember the massive sales campaign that went on during 2019... kind of sad, I hate to see a company go under, but man. Yeah, it seems to me a bit gawdy with the gold ingot there. It's not really an ingot so much as a cold leaf rectangle, hah. But tank watches do at least have appeal... it looks OK from afar!
