This song, especially the beginning just creates such pretty and flourishing images in my head. Really beautiful sound and curious story within. Really want to fully understand the story that is going in but at the same time I'm just enjoying the music and voice

Lyrics: Silent little words catch fires in forests of evergreen then the daisies you left for me they wilt... whose to say that she still lives in August that month is fairly long I think she moved on to september, it’s been a while since nightmares roamed the streets of old Ohio but I think that you and I both know that the ghost of Mary lies in books I’ve never picked up from the shelf down in the basement the ghost of August nights lie deep within your tangled whiskey lies... Mary liked to keep her door wide open for the birds and bees but baby you went in willingly... Who’s to say that you have ever loved me I only see the flaws in every word you didn’t mean. It’s been awhile since nightmares make me scream into the ocean but I think that you and I both know that the ghost of Mary lies in books I’ve never picked up from the shelf down in the basement the ghost of August nights lie deep within you tangled whiskey lies... On the other side the grass is darker it doesn’t get much water besides the tears from my own eyes... Mary if you ever hear my warning, he isn’t all that good the boy who only loves in august... The ghost of Mary lies in books I’ve never picked up from the shelf down in the basement, the ghost of August nights lie deep within your tangled whiskey, oh I hate your tangled whiskey lies...

This is a good song cause it's different from other breakup songs, other songs have lyrics that dehumanise or sadden breakups, but this one just telling the aftermath of a bad relationship that completely killed/changed the person we hear in the pov, in a very subtle way that isn't very vivid but still shows the terrors of a past august. Edit: so I found the actual meaning of the song and its very literal and I thought it was figurative lol, still a good song tho

This song is beautiful and it is one of the best songs if heard in a while. It brings me back to my pre teens when I was still watching rapunzel and read books with my friend. We both love this song btw. I hope you will keep making music. It is beautiful and you have a lot of potential to grow. This song remand me of the song 'soldier, poet, king' and 'show me that you're human' very beautiful and calming songs just like this one
