Wait you balance the game for everyone? Id be really interested to know how many balance changes you make for quickplay, and the stats on how much of the playerbase doesnt play ranked. You say that casual players are important, but you think ranked is where the casual players are? Just curious.

They even have balance for Aram that's how much casuals are important to them cuz they also but skins, quickplay must be more popular in lower elos so I think it's akin to low Elo balancing which they already do

In older video he says they only use data from ranked to balance the game as ranked players are generally trying to win while quickplay has too much “4 fun” players.

​​@@biglittleboy9827 a good example is several of the "op in ARAM" champions have nerfs. Sona's a great example here. She takes more damage, deals less damage, starts the game with negative ability haste, and I think there's more but I don't quite remember it. She remains a power pick in ARAM, because damn are her auras powerful when the teams are constantly grouped. She just isn't quite the instawin champion she used to be before ARAM-specific balancing was implemented.

Frustration towards certain content in a game is perfectly fine and in a ways, important. Some advice that I heard years back that stays true for myself in game design is that making content that some people love is far more important than making content that everyone likes. While I hate Jungling against a Shaco(even in Diamond), him being a part of the game doesn't make me love League any less. However, if Shaco were to be "fixed" to make him not as frustrating to play against, than that might be the nail in the coffin for those that main him.

I've played a good bit of Zed in the past. Watched a lot of RedMercy content around season 5. I appreciate a good Zed and I try not to get upset when Zed does Zed things. I think it's a poor mindset to just be angry when someone outplays you on a champ. I also think that facing better players than yourself is a profitable experience. You don't get better when playing against worse players. If all that you get from being stomped by a Zed is "Zed OP, Riot is stupid and it's not fair," then you need to take a break. Look at your attitude of the game and do some introspection.

This issue with this is not every champion can actually fight Zed. His high mobility couple with his ability to literally poke you from a longer distance than Xerath's fully changed Q means many champs have no interaction with Zed that Zed does not wish to happen. They have to sit back and pray he does something stupid so they can actually interact with him. That is toxic. I'm not talking about counter match-ups that sucks, but match-ups where your opponent has complete and total control and all you can do is hope they make a mistake big enough to allow you to take some type of action isn't good design and does not belong in the game.

@@Kingofredeyes Zed shadow starts off at a 20 second cd. Xerath Q is 9 seconds. That's double the time. You can punish zed with his shadow down in lane. He is nothing without his shadow. That's his engage, his escape, his everything. I'm not a mid lane player anymore, but looking at his matchups as of right now, he loses to Xerath, Velkoz, Fizz, Irelia, Galio, Ekko, ect just to name a few.

A big problem Zed has when he's strong, is skill removal, they don't HAVE to outplay you anymore. We've all played against that fed zed who opens ult vs you at 100%, doesnt land triple Q and autos you to death. The easier it is for Zed to hit the threshold where he no longer needs to be piloted well, is when he's problematic. A lot of assassins suffer from this actually, it's not just Zed. Even when Zed is weak; the good Zed players will still outplay you and kick your ass, but the bad Zeds don't get to completely ignore the champs intended skill checks after 1 kill. It's a fine balance to keep him playable, but to also not reward bad players. Irelia is getting a low elo nerf next patch for the same reason; she's SUPPOSED to be skilled, but currently just stat checks people who aren't good enough to abuse her weaknesses.

Assassins are frustrating in mid because team comps need mages to provide some form of wave clear and mix damage profile but have limited to no options to itemize into assassins and their base stats are low by the time they buy dirk that 1 combo just half health them. Also a majority of the meta assassins have 0 constraints on them cause they don't use mana -_-

I find it funny how some champs are hard for people to deal with, even when they're not actually strong, or have clear ways to counter them. Like, Briar - for one, I love playing Briar, but handling her is so easy. She's a champ who just runs at you. If she's used her E, she can't even stop running at you. So how do you deal with her? Crowd control, or lure her under a turret. Both if you can. She won't dodge CC, so you should be able to hit most of the time. She can avoid going under the turret via E, but that's good for you as well, since it means you can get away without needing to fight her, or turn on her while W and E are down. Zed: Build armor, and just take 5 minutes to look at what his abilities actually do. There's a reason his winrate dropped after QSS was made unable to negate his ult (I think it was his ult), despite that being meant as a buff for him. Illaoi: I personally *hate* this champ, but I know the theory of how to deal with her (because she's caused me so much trouble). If you dodge her E, and take out her tentacles, she can't do much; I just have trouble dodging E.

Build armor on mages and watch your damage output drop massively yeah sounds good I'll find a slot for seekers in the 3 items I'll be able to build before the game ends somewhere in between a mana item, dcap and voidstaff that I need to even tickle the enemy topside champs

​@@shutupMaji Tbh, if you're a mage, I don't think dealing with Zed is your job. He's meant to kill squishier champs like mages and ADCs. Also, if you do have to be the one to deal with him, I'd recommend Zhonya's. If you can build it, it should be enough in most cases. If it isn't, then steelcaps on top of it should be.

Tbh Grasp needs a nerf for the sole reason that it does A LOT of dmg. Illaoi and Tryndamere don’t even run Conquerer or PTA, yet their dmg output matches those who run dmg Runes. I believe I was playing Sett into Illaoi and was doing pretty good at dodging her E, but got absolutely destroyed in Lane bc the trades just weren’t there. She just felt like no matter how good I played as long as she got the occasional Grasp Proc she won back any interaction she lost before that

Sadly Riot does not balance to make TopLaners enjoy the game. All the most cancer uninteractive sht is OP / borderline OP. Kennen, Zac, Skarner, Vayne, Akshan, Warwick, Gragas, TF, Varus. Sadly in the case of TopLane somehow Riot stops carrying about players experience and all the sudden the only thing that matters is if the mentioned champions hit their BS buff/nerf thresholds.

They have been trying to give Briar high elo power to be fair, like the Q ward hop. Issue is she just has a kit that isn't made for high elo. She's similar to Warwick or old master Yi, the kit would have to be turbo overtuned to work in high elo because what they do is fairly telegraphed and has clear counterplay. It's less ""briar bad", and more "Briar has easy counterplay that's easier to abuse the better you are at the game".

@@Bladius_ Which is why you would think that they would give her some sort of CC or Slow immunity in her kit. If they’re gonna nerf her upfront dmg potential with nerfing her Atk Spd, Movement Spd, or otherwise Valuable stat then she should be less punished for being played “correctly” At least her ult, I feel like her ult is the one thing the dev’s have completely overlooked to make her an actual champion. If she becomes immune to all CC other than the champ she hit with Ult, then she’s suddenly able to live instead of instantly die by Morgana Q.
