This drama wants to be about selfish, spoiled sons. However, it just, likely unintentionally, turns out to be about parents who are guilty of spoiling their children by fulfilling all their wishes without any restrain, by sacrificing their own and their daughters’ needs. This results in their sons growing into extremely selfish individuals. Sons must be taught from their very childhood that rights and responsibilities go together. Fulfilling wishes all through life and giving responsibilities only when sons are grown up does not render them responsible. Thus the parents failed miserably in inculcating social values in their sons. The parents, instead of reflecting where they went wrong, end up ONLY blaming their sons. For instance, the parents did not bother to consult their other sons and daughters, not even a lawyer, before fulfilling the preposterous wish of their youngest son. In this way the parents wrote their own fate and their daughter’s death with their own hands. Moreover, the drama demonstrates how in Pakistan parents, even though they claim love for daughters, have NO real love for them: no share in inheritance and no share in the provident fund, not even this much money was taken out that Roshna could complete her education, or Muni could get medicine. It shows that most of the time daughters are raised to obediently serve fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons. Daughters are blind to their own unjust treatment. In brief, the drama is a LESSON for those kinds of parents who love to spoil their children only to later reap the fruit of their foolishness.
