This is in a broadcast in memory of Takemitsu. He died in February, 20th,1996. He had been sick in bed since 1995. This was written for Aurele Nicolet. This is Takemitsu's last piece .Aurele Nicolet made special mention about Takemitsu's attitude toward death. Seiji Ozawa,Hiroyuki Iwaki,James Levine,Andre Previn,Aurele Nicolet,Charles Dutoit,Simon Rattle,Heintz Holliger,John Lewis gave memorial speech .All of them looked so sad.

Flutiste très célèbre, et très étonnant que A.Nicolet. Malgré sa petite taille, il peut jouer fort, et longtemps. Il a une sonorité puissante, large, à l'allemande si l'on veut, car timbrée et génereuse. D'autres flutistes français ont fait carrière avec le même souci de taille : Marius Boeuf, p.e. Il est de la génération de Gazzeloni, Rampal, M.Larrieu et a formé la majorité des meilleurs flutistes actuels et passés. Son originalité ? jouer toutes les musiques, tous les répertoires, c'est ce qui lui donne son intelligence du texte, son ouverture.
