some nice details about those fights: fern never uses her left arm. so the wound did have an effect. Linie actually has like no strengh. the hit in the shoulder was so severe because of the weight of her axe, not because of the force of the blow. starks eye also wasn't pirced, it was just a cut above the eye, but it's an area, that tends to bleed heavy, even from smaller cuts. her last strike was without force because she was unable to realy use the weight of the axe, so she wasn't able to deal a deadly blow while stark could use his full force. it is also the first bigger fight in the anime and it was amazing. about Arua: after controlling the enemy, she cuts off their heads, so no matter how iron your will is, you are dead now but the magic keeps working. this is why she has the nickname "guilloutine". aura also was surprised that frieren dispelled her controll magic. not because it wasn't effective because it is. but dispelling magic needs a lot more mana than just blasting/killing magic and since auras specialty allows her to take controll of you if her mana is higher, it is not something you should do in her presence. because the spell will weigh the present mana with eachother and not your maximum mana.

Stark hasn't yet surpassed his master, but his master knew that Stark has the potential to surpass him. Like, Stark has more natural talent than his Master, but as of now, Eisen is still stronger than him even after being way beyond his peak.

So the title of the anime in Japanese is Sousou no Frieren. I'm gonna explain it poorly since Im not a Japanese speaker and am just repeating what i remeber, but essentially, it's a double entredre in Japanese. In Japanese you'd assume the title was saying it's "Frieren at the Funeral" referencing her having to move on as her friends died around her. Episode 8 would hit very hard for Japanese viewers as it's revealed the second meaning "Frieren the Slayer" is also true. A Japanese speaker can explain it way better but I did my best lol

Truly a disgusting magic, bending another being to your will and forcing them to behead themselves so they can never have a chance to live or fight back. 13:54 Some people in the world just have absurd durability and strength. For example in the manga Himmel says he could crush a walnut with his bare hands, which while not the greatest thing to test your strength against it is impossible for a normal human to do so with their bare hands. Eisen even says he could crush a diamond with his bare hands. It even gets joked about sometimes in the manga and anime. Of course sometimes Starks durability gets ignored for the sake of comedy.

thing is stark could have won that fight in 3 seconds but because he underestimates himself he was stalling the fight and getting hit because he wasnt really fighting back
