Well, you know how it is with actors who become known for one really iconic character - if they're not careful that one role hangs over the rest of their career and it becomes hard for them to find other work. To be fair, Boba fett's entire popularity was based simply on his design and name.... I don't think Lucas had any idea of how the character was perceived given the stupid way he was "killed" in the Return of the Jedi. I felt Boba Fett was a precurser to Darth Maul, as I thought the way he " died" in phantom menace was kind of a waste of a character... especially since there was very little build up to him in the movie itself.
