Hey Aurelio. Back in 2006 your music really spoke to me during a time I was in a bad place emotionally. I was considering suicide at the time because I felt like no one understood me but your song Almost Human spoke to me in a way nothing else did at the time and I felt that if one person can could make something that moved me like that, then life is still worth living. Obviously I'm doing better now. I just randomly thought of you today and wondered if you were still making music. I have you to thank for getting me through the darkest period in my life. I might not be alive if your songs did not exist. Thank you Aurelio. Much respect.

I'm sorry about everything. I know that this is probably just a comment among many, but I really hope things get better soon. You and your music and your videos and seeing all you have accomplished really helped me out a lot a couple years ago when I was not feeling so great. You may never have seen my face, but I really think of you as a friend. I hope, even if this is just some small comment on some website, that you find some small comfort in it. If I could return even the smallest fraction of the support and comfort you gave me, I would be glad. I wish you the best.

This specific version of this song really hits home for me because it feels even more personal in a way if that makes any sense. I've struggled with various disorders and disabilities that have only gotten worse as I've gotten older. Lately my OCD has gotten to a point where my brain is always actively full of random thoughts that never leave me a moment's peace and it makes me very talkative and I can't do anything about it. My own mother no longer wants anything to do with me because she finds me annoying and it really does feel like I'm struggling with another entity in a way since I can't really actively control it or make it stop. The struggle of human nature V.S. pure logic isn't that different from my own struggles and I'm noticing this more and more so I sometimes come back to this song because in a way it helps me feel like I'm not the only one who is dealing with both physical and mental disabilities that have been a nightmare all my life. Thank you Voltaire for your wonderful music and all of the thought, heart, and creativity you pour into it. I know you will likely never see this comment, but I just wanted to thank you in some way for the solace your music brings.

"And now the light is streaming in and it's all because of you..." Very intense Aurelio and it hits so many aspects of a relationship. That similar phrase was said to me months ago and it shook/resonated me to my core. I'm glad he did because it made me view him in a different light and it softened/broke down my hearts walls. I told him he grounded me and how much I needed that in my life. Steve said: I'm glad your not grounded because I need that in my life. I do envy an artist form of expression and thank you for always being open and true.

My first language isn't english, so sometimes I struggle when trying to understand song lyrics, but when I first listened to this song, even before knowing that Voltaire was also a trekkie, I got enough information to know it was about a Vulcan (just because I was obsessed with Star Trek and I heard the words logic and supernova). And now I found this song again, I checked the lyrics, and I think I was right! It's a beautiful song, thank you so much for everything you do. I always found comfort in Star Trek, and I'm really glad I live in the same reality where Voltaire writes these songs.

Impeccable timing; I wished I had this song last week, because it sums up everything I've felt lately. I have two friends who changed my life, if not saved it outright. One died nearly a decade ago, while I saw the other one again for the first time in 7 years - at Saboten Con 2014. They didn't rescue me from a burning building, or drag me out of a war-zone; they were simply there for me. They were in the right place at the right time. Who saved you?
@TheLairofVoltaire10 жыл бұрын
No one yet, I'm afraid.

The Lair of Voltaire Don't lose hope. Think of the lives *you've* changed. You probably don't think about it, but imagine how you impact the flow of every day events - not by being talented, or by doing anything extraordinary. Just showing up to an event, or calling someone on the phone. By being there, you take part in the butterfly effect of life. Maybe someone saved your life just by being a face in the crowd - something so miniscule in nature that you don't see how much of an impact it's had on you already. The little things really DO matter.
@CountessOfPluto10 жыл бұрын
The Lair of Voltaire hey- I don't want to sound like a cheap self help book, but honestly? No one in this world can save yourself but you. It is when you are done waiting for people to save you from drowning that you learn how to swim. When you least expect it and when you are not looking for it, you are rowing your boat and suddenly someone comes and helps you out, and you row together while laughing and having fun :) I know it may sound like some cheap piece of advice, but in the end the only person you can count on is yourself, and that doesn't mean we should all become bitter loners, it just means we shouldn't put such huge responsibility on other people. Most of the times they don't know what to do with it. Saving someone is a lot of work, and you can never really do it anyway. I've been in both sides of the story. But you have us, who are somehow here for you because you have been there for us through your music when we needed you. And if anything helps is knowing that at least someone, somewhere, is wishing you are happy and complete :) Smile Voltaire, the party isn't over yet :)

The Lair of Voltaire I'm going to sound gloriously clichéd here but there are people who love what you do, people to whom you have a lot of meaning. Evidently none of us really know you, since we're the watchers, and there's nothing we can do but support you as best we can, by loving your music and books and animations and everything else. I learned about you soon after Bitrektual came out, and I've listened to every one of your sons at least twice. And I don't know if this means anything to you, but you've inspired me to be myself more in my art (yay cheese), honest like you are honest. Unlike many artists, you give music, instead of inflicting it, and that makes all the difference. I know you say no one has saved you yet, but you've helped save me, through your music, which I listened to through a fairly hard time in my life. Voltaire, you are incredibly awesome, and the very fact that you do something as small as respond to KZbin comments proves that. Live long and prosper, man (and by god, you deserve it) Spiel over :) seriously though, you're epic. I own all but one of your albums, bought, and usually I just download stuff. Because you're worth it. God I am feeling cheesy. -L

Hey Voltaire, so somehow I missed this Word Premiere when you released it, but I always enjoyed this song without knowing what it was really about. I finally watched Star Trek recently because I enjoy your Star Trek songs and wanted to understand the references. I was in my car the other day, and Human Nature came on. After a few lines, it hit me and I screamed "OH MY GOTH IT"S ABOUT MR. SPOCK!" I've always loved your music because there's a story in all the songs or full albums and I was so excited to figure out this one. Live long and prosper!

Thank you! it is a brilliant song! And concerning father's reasoning: Endless Fall A man's like a handful of sand A man's like a dazzling sun His years slip your trembling hand You look at him once and you're done. My son, do not temp your fate And do keep your heart secure Before it is not too late And future is dark and obscure But if you delay just a day But if you glance only once You will become his prey Your heart with love he will lance. You'll torture yourself with hope You'll burn and smolder and melt Then fear will reap it's crop Of feelings you ever felt. The logic will be dismissed You'll gladly accept that all Entwined in an endless kiss You'll welcome your endless fall.

Came back to this video after many years and I have a feeling that this song was ordered by my current self only years ago. When I was younger I already felt like crap, wanting to escape reality on the computer and etc. I was suicidal but I feared the pain and never did it, and right now I listen to this song and read the lyrics, and I realize that the description and the lyrics are identical to me. Like word for word it is identical. I have anger issues, massive ones, because of things I have experienced. Sometimes my mother compares those lash-outs of anger to demonic things, as if a demon broke loose. She isn't religious either. Can't say I am, I am sort of an unofficial apostate. I do believe, but I am not loyal to God or anything after certain events. So yeah, this song was one of the first songs to make me tear up. I sing it when I am alone or just with my mother. It's truly beautiful and this is a song I can relate to if not 100%, then 99% for sure. Mr.Voltaire, you have been my idol since I was 12, and I was ecstatic when I received an autographed picture of you +a Sleezter(I don't remember the proper name) Bunny for one of my birthdays. You have made an impact in my life and you were and still are an inspiration to me. Though we might disagree on certain subjects, I still am one of your biggest(yet shortest) fans. Thank you, for everything. EDIT after 4 years: I am so so much better and I have rediscovered God in many ways, but this song still brings me down to tears.

Very thoughtful, sir... Such a light-hearted look into the mind of those dealing with the "logic vs. emotion" struggle. Yes, I'm sure it's about a certain Vulcan we all know and love, but that struggle feels all too real to some of us sometimes. I particularly enjoy the last line of reflection you left us in the description (before the lyrics). Thank you once again for a beautiful song!

Nice Aetheric Physics concept. Seizing control of things we cannot see but we know are there since they affect the surrounding space/time =)) If you don't already know about Cymatics...look it up. I think you'd appreciate it being an artist and musician. The study of Cymatics appeals to the logical end of things, yet uses frequency sound waves to make simple shapes. The Rosslyn Motet was carved out at Rosslyn Chapel for damn near a thousand years before someone realized those blocks made up a beautiful song. The Stave Angel shows you the key it is supposed to be played in. Almost certainly came back with the Crusaders...Dunno why, but the little intro you wrote in the description made that pop into my head.

I didn't initially listen to the song, or read the description, but once i did, it reminded me a lot of a story i have had in my head for a long while. In this story, a disease was spreading across a small town, painfully killing people. Once the main character caught the 'illness', he promised that he'd find a supposed legendary cure. So he begun to wander around the world, fighting another mysterious person who seemed to simply want to mess him up. He manages to find it, and goes back to cure his mother with it... however, the doctors discover he had the disease the entire time. They tried to give him it, but he refused. Instead, he told them to give his drop to other people, and so they did... with him dying as a hero of the village. Afterwards, a song sang in his prospective would play, and it would express the beauty of the world he saw as he was dying.
