OMG! I don't think even mental illness excuses the guy who rented this apartment from Anton. The story was confusing to me, too. Who paid the rent for the last few months before Anton returned? And many items BESIDE the furniture will clearly have to be repaired, like the toilet, the faucets, and probably a lot more that was not immediately apparent to those of us watching this video. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to hear that the community donated money and furniture to Anton! He is going to need both as he reestablishes himself in his home. I remember when my daughter moved into her first apartment. Furnishing it completely cost us about $10,000, and I imagine Anton will have to spend that much buying a new bed, new couch, new everything. Hang in there, Anton, and thank you so much, Auri! That’s so awful that not only did they trash the apartment but ruined his belongings.
@momtrips6783Күн бұрын
I'm not so sure that the tenant is ashamed. He should've responded in some way and offered restitution if he is an honorable man. Maybe he sublet it or let friends crash there the whole time? That looks like a lot of mess for one person, but I could be wrong.
@clevermissfoxКүн бұрын
@ I don’t disagree ; the tenant should have taken responsibility and responded. I assume he didn’t respond because he is ashamed. Not defending his honor , it shows a lack of integrity to leave the home in that state and not take responsibility. But also like Anton said in this video, it’s clear something is wrong and it’s hard not to empathize with the tenants state of mind. I’m just saying that I hope the tenant receives some help for whatever they are dealing with too.

It's very common for home insurance in Sweden to not cover when you rent out your whole home. For me I would expect it to be common knowledge. But maybe I'm wrong. And there is also a diffence here between "home insurance" which is the only one you need for an apartment (if you not rent it out as a whole) and a "house insurance" which is needed if you have a property/house. In the latter case you normally have a combo of home and house insurance. What happened in Antons case is considered a minor damage, it could be much worse like extensive water damage which could be extremely expensive.

Auri: what should we use for the sink? Me: gasoline and a flame thrower Auri: sinis kitchen cleaner and chlorine Me: yes, that's probably the smarter choice Sini! Come to the USA please! Anton, you're an amazing, empathetic, human. Not just because of your kindness towards your renter, but in what you do. I'm so glad Auri was able to help you get your apartment back to clean and you recieved so much support. Wonderful, dirtilicious video ! 🧡

Thank you for the video Auri! :) One suggestion, if the person can't read their story themself, maybe you read it instead of using AI? I think the AI voice is a bit creepy and kind of takes attention away from the video.

Auri you should invest in a wet/dry shopvac! You wouldn't need to use so many paper towels to dry up water and liquids! ☺️

She has mentioned before that she just prefers a broom and squeegee (or whatever it's called lol) over a vacuum cleaner because for her it's quicker and cleans better.
@kaitlinjensen17 сағат бұрын
She doesn't use any kind of vacuum cleaner because bacteria or bugs could transfer between jobs.

Auri- Great job! You worked a miracle. Yellow is my favorite too. It makes me feel cheerful. I had a big closet cleaning project at home today. I thought to myself, Auri would tackle this with a smile on her face. I tried my best to do the same!

if i am subleasing with the plan of coming back and taking over the apartment, I would always make a key copy. whether the person renting the place knows it or not.

Anton is such a wonderful human being. He displays such a healthy outlook on life. He was understandably shocked, horrified, and angry but was still genuinely concerned about the tenant. It's heartbreaking and so disappointing to see a home totally trashed that you had taken such good care of. 😢 No doubt Auri cleaned it as good as possible, but that doesn't help some of the damage that was done. What a relief that she was willing to travel to Sweden to help!!!

All these stories....I found it hard to believe. People always claim they lent or rent the apartment to someone for a year and it ended up in a huge mess. But it's simple to see it takes years for a place to turn out like this.
@eevee241122 сағат бұрын
It takes like a week for things to get moldy if you leave food out. If the sink is blocked and the toilet is broken stuff piles up really fast. If you never brought a garbage bag out it would take only weeks before your whole house was covered in garbage. In some cases i don't believe it but this guy I do. I do think some of the dust could have been there for a long time in some areas but its not uncommon to not dust some hidden spots in the house
@kaitlinjensen17 сағат бұрын
@@eevee2411even the dust - the spiderwebs can totally happen. If he didn't clean, the critters have all the time to make it comfortable. My small shed looks like that with spider webs twice a year, because I don't clean it like I do my house. I hate spiders.

It's not really true that you can generally tell how people are doing and what their home looks like. A lot of people are great at hiding what's going on in their private life.
