I suffer from major depression and it is extremely hard to function but I do. I have 2 rescue cats and I keep my home clean. BUT my cats come first😁 always. If I couldn’t care for them in a way they deserve then I would absolutely find them a better home. They give so much and ask for so little. Animals are a gift. It is a major struggle when everything within me feels like even basic tasks are hard to do. Add a full time job, pets to care for, etc... and life can feel impossible. Poor guy, he never got closure from his girlfriend. Of course he's struggling so much I'm really worried about the cat. Cats need specific food (not dog food) and a litter box of course, but they also have a ton of psychological and emotional depth. They need to be loved just as much as dogs do.

I'm trying to refrain from judging too much because this is an edited video and things could have been left out of view like a litter box or a bag of cat food. But hopefully this cat is getting the right care. A little less concerned about the dog because I truly do believe this is better than living life in a cage at a crowded shelter(usually all are over capacity) and I think the dog is very loved. As far as the cat goes, cats can survive in the wild so there's really no need to keep it confined inside if it's living in this type of environment. Very important they eat their own food regularly.

I've struggled with health and mental health issues. My house may be a bit messy but I tidy and clean when I can. I would never let my dogs and cats live like that. That dog was begging for attention. Based on the amount of feces the dog probably never gets walked. Bless you for helping them.

Same here. I've been struggling with my mental health for some time now (and will be for a lot longer) but I have been seeking help for a long time as well. It sometimes is really hard to get the right kind of help for your specific situation and wait times are usually pretty long no matter what country you're in... But my cats didn't sign up for that. I would rather me go hungry than my cats, they deserve care even when I can't care for myself some days. Even when I visit my mom I make sure to walk her dog when she can't do it herself (health reasons, but even she tries to do it whenever she can and pushes through the pain because she loves her dog). Pets aren't objects, they are living breathing creatures that are your responsibility. If you can't care for a pet, then don't get a pet and if you can't care for your pet anymore, make sure your pet is taken care of by someone else.

Great cleaning! At least the Before and After pictures show a much cleaner home. But, the video was set to play at such a fast speed that I missed A LOT of the cleaning. I work for a care givers organization. Our clients are mostly elderly people but not always. They get an indication from the town council who takes care of most of the bill. The clients only need to pay a pittance fee. They are no way as messy as your jobs. I started doing this work after my husband died from brain cancer just a week before I turned 60 and I needed to find something to fill the hole in my salary and give me some purpose again in life. I have lovely clients and my help enables them to live at home instead of going to nursing homes or other facilities. They are all so kind and grateful. This is enough for me to continue doing this work.

Great job as always Auri! Hopefully aside from getting a plumber, that he can also hire a dog walker/pet sitter for the dog and cat. If he works long hours , but doesn’t want to surrender the pets, it is his duty as their human caregiver to give them the best care possible even if it means asking /paying for help. It’s not fair to them otherwise. If he really is a police officer then he makes enough salary to afford pet care assistance.

It pisses me off that animals are forced to live in that filth. It's no different than a child. They don't have a choice and it's abuse. You can't call it anything else. And him being a cop makes it all the more horrific. I get it, breakups are hard. I just went thru one myself and still not back to who I was before. But I didn't do any of that nonsense. That was heartbreaking to see. He needs to get his head out his ass and pull it together. You've made it much healthier for all involved in that home. Hoping it will be kept how you've left it

I have to say it. If his home is in this condition, he has some problems emotional or mental. He does not need to be in a profession such as a policeman where he works with the public and may carry a weapon. I feel for his situation, but the public is also dealing with trauma and need someone of sound mind.

That's really insensitive to say. Everyone who works in that profession will have trauma, you'd have to be a robot not to. With that logic nobody should be a police officer then. His job is a necessary one and someone needs to do it. At least he made the sacrifice and chose to do this dangerous job instead of hiding behind a screen and making snarky know it all comments. What he needs is help to cope with the trauma in a better way.

As a police officer myself, I really appreciate you doing that for him. There's more trauma there than just a failed relationship. The job carries trauma that we don't talk about. I wish him lots of luck. I hope he can talk to someone he can trust and work it all out. Great job on the house and with Lulu, she deserves love and care as well. My dad was a paratrooper, cop and then his sac agent. I was always proud of who he was, although he was strict, he made us laugh all the time. He was a real true blue. Brother marine then cop. I guess it runs in the family, husband relatives also cops. True blues for sure.
