Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights above Lake Michigan | 4K timelapse

Amazing opportunity to capture Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis happened over the weekend (May 10-12, 2024). An unusually strong solar storm was giving most of the country a chance to see Northern Lights. So strong that it was visible in Chicago, despite high light pollution. The continuing geomagnetic storm continued for three nights of spectacular auroras across parts of North America. Here is some timelapses, dronelapses and some phone picures as well as high resolution captures.
All taken north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
4K drone footage done with DJI Mavic 2 Pro.
Timelases and pictures done with Canon 5D, R6, GoPro8, iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy S22

What a treat! I’m always delighted by what you come up with. We saw yhe aurora here in Arlington Heights, but sadly muted by hazy clouds. My iPhone 13 managed to salvage some bits.

Between 10.30pm - 1 am. The brightest moment was around 11.30pm
