Aurora said that, at first, "Exist for Love" was about a specific person, however, it became something way bigger than her and her lover from the moment it wasn't only a song to remind how beautiful love is anymore, but also a song meant to make those who listen to it feel loved if they can't be wrapped by this kind of love at the moment, for some reason. That's why she directed this music video herself - she wanted to make sure that she could look at the camera in a way that we can feel that all this love is towards us. And when love somehow fades away from our lives, or becomes unreachable or one-sided, this song could be a painful memory. But it isn't. This song is more than that. It's a shelter.

Euphoria interview with Aurora June 18, 2020. What is the inspiration/message behind “Exist For Love”? I think once in a while we all need something to remind us of the good that exists in the world. And why we exist. Right now the world is going through a lot, together, but we are also isolated. You try to listen to the world when making music. And I felt like the world needed a little love right now.

I love the first line, “They say there is a war between the man and the woman…” I think what holds us back from giving into love is fear and distrust - it’s like we feel we have to constantly fight for ourselves, and we forget to fight for each other. And that begins to look a lot like fighting each other. To be a human loving other humans is probably the purest form of freedom. It’s like embracing that we’re each one of billions in a species, and we’re all as small as each other, but when we give each other love, we become big and more powerful than any obstacle we could ever face. Love is a laying down of weapons, it’s an admission that we can’t always be strong alone, but also a promise to find strength as a whole, all together, as human. Getting to that position is tough and scary, but it’s also beautiful and rewarding. This song really made me realise just how important love is.

women have always been open for being in love with men. The men on the other hand... unfortunately there is a war, and its not up for women to decide to end it, since we didn't start it in the first place, men did. it wasnt long ago when women were not allowed to make any decisions in their lifes and were dependent on men around them (and it is still true for many women around the world unfortunately).

I like the song but the lyrics are pretty boring and i'd maybe say uninspired. all her other songs invoke a certain feeling and this one just doesn't.
I think I had the biggest revelation after hearing this song.. I just want to spread love as much as I can even to people who hurt me, even to strangers, to myself, and to the little things I do in my life. I wanna spread love even if it is tiny as greeting or complimenting someone.. The world has suffered enough and I would love to see people rejoice again starting with myself, I will try my best to spread love and I will learn how to do so because even if it’s easy in my mind trying to apply it might take courage and confidence.

Fun facts: Aurora wrote this song in 2017 when she was in love. The sound is from an old demo tape, she didn't want to lose the emotional aspect of this original recording, so she keeps it. The violins were put on afterwards. Her costume was made by her sister, Victoria, from old clothes and other objects found in Aurora's apartment. Aurora's other sister, Miranda, was in charge of the makeup. Aurora made the pearl necklace from pearls she found in her closet. As mentioned, Aurora Directed the video. The whole project took 10 hours. The girls dancing, is two of Auroras friends. She said the empty seats are because this isn't a show, it is how she feels, there is no one watch. Oh, and she plays harp so that is what you are hearing. AND THIS IS DONE IN FIRST TAKE ITSELF. SHE IS A GODDESS

Rally ? its actually stolen and ripped of . fun fact about this beautiful song and video! they were actually recorded in 1930. aurora is just releasing it now because she forgot. drawback of being immortal i guess!~. and made a piss poor job, its like nails on a black board . Sarah Brightman did it better on " there for me " on LA LUNA DVD TOUR , as Josh Grobans romantic duet .

I’ve never actually really been in love, but this song makes it feel like I am. I don't know if this was Aurora's intention, but the whole aesthetic reminds me of Botticelli's "Birth of Venus"and some sort of 1920's vibe. It makes me miss some decade that I didn't live in and also fills my chest with a spontaneous delightful happiness. Thank you Aurora, for bringing us love in the shape of Aphrodite with your angelic voice. The world truly needs some love and hope right now. ♥️

You'd have to assume that the Birth of Venus referencing is intentional, it's her first song specifically about love, so it being a reference to a painting of the birth of the goddess of love isn't much of a stretch.

I feel so touched seeing Aurora's music evolution... What i love is that she always go to the end of her concepts! but she's not provocative, she is... delicate, strong, passionate. This has the feel of an old school love song, but with a depth that only someone like Aurora can bring. :) Don't think you will see this comment Aurora, but if you do I just wanted to say that I was at your concert in Portland, Oregon last year, and when you finished your concert by singing what may be my favorite song of yours, Through The Eyes Of A Child, after dedicating it so beautifully to all the lonely and hurting people there at the concert, it brought me to tears, and I was going through a rough time at the time so that was healing for me, and I just wanted to thank you for that, and wanted to thank you as well for all the encouragement and inspiration I have received from your music, as well as your interviews, that I have listened to over the last couple years. You're a wonderful musician and a lovely human being Aurora, and I appreciate how you share your heart with the world like you do. May you be blessed. :)

And when you say my name Like white horses on the waves I think it feels the same As an ocean in my veins And you'll be divin' in Like nothing is out of place And we exist for love Only for love And I love you, I love you, I love you And I love you, I love you, I love you

It seems a bit weird to make a comment like this one of her songs that has rather generic lyrics, althought this would be dumb no matter what.

1. Aurora has an absolute control over her voice. 2. She is incredibly prolific, and has been for a number of years. 3. Her compositions and arrangements are very musical. 4. Her delivery is uncompromisingly artistic and instantly relatable. 5. She choreographs her performances herself. 6. She produces and engineers her songs. 7. Aurora is laser-beam focused on what's important, not only to her as an artist, but to her audience as well. 8. I am probably missing some of her other qualities. All that said, I can't think of any other singer exhibiting these traits, and this is despite my listening to various genres of music for decades. If you can suggest some names, I would be grateful!

It’s insane the power music holds. Aurora’s music especially. I have complex PTSD and when I have flashbacks, nightmares, all that stuff- I come to this and it just disappears into thin air. It gives the heart a flutter and a balm for the soul.✨🦋🍀
