It is actually said to not be good to use a brush in wet hair only a comb so wetting a brush other than like wet brush brand ones, and even then can be bad depending on the bristle type and hairy type, causes hair to break and become frizzy and split ends become a common issue. Washing hair more than four times a week is also not good and forcing it dry causes such problems too. Her hair definitely seems to be getting pickier which is common beyond the age of six this is when you probably want to start sticking with wide tooth combs start from the bottom of the hair picking her tangles out little by little working your way up. This is fine to do even straight out the bath and helps it dry faster too. Tap the hair dry with a towel or let air dry even tying it up with a towel is sometimes ok it they are sensitive to cold an moisture but don’t rub or aggressively dry using a towel air drying seems to be best for every hair type blow drying is not great and never on heat setting only cool. To keep hair from dripping everywhere you can place a towel around her shoulders or on head like a nun or wrap it like your mom probably used to haha but that is hard to do really if you haven’t before specially on children or short hair. Doesn’t take long to stop dripping and trust me this will make it a thousand times easier to handle in the future. It’s why men tend to have quite nice hair because naturally the less manipulation intervention the better allows natural oils to do their thing and allows for you to observe what natural hair type to decide what Maintanance is best but in my experience almost none is actually best contrary to common belief. Really curly hair really responds best to this approach you brush it it becomes a nesty mess. Also takes a bit of trial and error to find good shampoo I like finesse it was the first shampoo I found that changed my world I just thought I’d have frizz forever pantine is the worst but they have changed their formulas over the years and gotten better but they still don’t really compete. I learned from a life of trial and error. Lost my hair to cancer treatment when I was fifteen though so had a chance to start fresh with my baby hair when it grew back and haven’t had split ends since not even with years between salon visits and trimming. Had to figure it all out on my own really though. Haha! I grew up rather poor and deprived for the most part. Nobody’s fault really but it just be like that sometimes.
