i am 78 and have been drenched in music my whole life. She is beyond any adjectives and can evoke emotion from a rock. She is a writer singer arranger composer pianist choreographer and something much MORE-- because she believes she can make us and the world a better place and when she has our focus, for just those 4 or 5 minutes, she transports you and you forget how dark and ugly the world has become. Her music is a message, a prayer, a wish for mankind. She is beyond music and a better kind of human. A GIFT-- where from??

She wrote this song at age 9. From what I understand, it is about contemplating suicide. Quite dark for a 9 year old mind. But it goes to show that depression doesn't have an age limit. Her Nidaros concert is one of the most emotionally moving pieces of art I've ever experienced. You're doing yourself a disservice not listening to the entire performance! It is beauty personified! Be safe brother!

I am loving your journey with Aurora. This song is incredible, and more so when you know that she wrote it when she was only 9 years old. Also, this entire concert at the Nidarosdomen - the northern most medieval cathedral in the world - is a masterpiece. Every song is absolutely sublime. Well worth watching every single one.

I think...everyone should hear and see this "performance" by Aurora...."and I feel the light for the very first time". She was only a child when she wrote this. Thank you.
@WhiteTiger3334 жыл бұрын
Others have already pointed out that she wrote this when she was 9. Here is what she had to say about it: "She explained the song's meaning to The 405: "It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember."" It's so astonishing to realize how tuned in and observant she was to the essence of humanity at such a young age. And isn't that venue about the most wonderful for these songs of hers? She said, at the beginning of the full concert video, that she chose them for the venue.

You are such a sweet man. I loved watching your face as you were reacting. She makes my heart feel full and heart beat so strong. My phone was broken for 3 months. Brilliant. Everyone should try it! Everyday was a vacation in the woods. This young lady is so special. She changed my life! Powerful, soft, full, breathy, haunting, gentle, crystal clear vocals and tone... so emotional. Not religious myself but her voice sounds like what I envision hearing and hearing when the soul elevates after life... She wrote this at age 9. WHAT? Most kids were still eating booger’s. What were you doing? Cheers!

The whole concert must go down as one of the most moving concerts of all time,it's a masterpiece,each and every song including the covers just take you on a journey to a place where the art of songwriting and music combined move emotions inside of you that you did not know you had, aurora is a special artist that only comes along very rarely,she is blessed with something that you can't teach,forget your mainstream over sexualised rubbish that so called artists churn out, aurora is on a different planet she is that good.I am blessed to have found her.❤️

Every time I see one of her performances it touches a different part of my sole, then I try to come up with some crafty words to explain my feelings, always coming up miserably short. I don’t consider myself into pop music, I can only say this wonderful human is a gift to us all, listen to her words and learn, these songs came to her so young she says the true meaning came to her years later. I’m so lucky this 52 year old got to experience her, she is a generational talent

Nice reaction. I agree the overall mood of the song is melancholy, but I too find it hauntingly beautiful, not the least bit depressing. For me music like this just invokes greater emotion, not sadness, her voice is just too beautiful for that.

I know you’ve done a couple of these but this is my list of favourite live performances: Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) (Nobel Peace Prize Concert) Through the Eyes of a Child (Vevo UK Lift) It happened Quiet (live at Nidarosdomen) Under the water (Vevo halloween) Wardruna and Aurora - Helvegen (first vid that comes up) Haik Concert (The full Haik documentary is also worth watching, gives a lot of insight into Aurora as a human) God is a woman (Ariana Grande cover) Teardrop (Massive Attack cover) Across the universe (Beatles Cover) Believer (Imagine Dragons Cover) Life on Mars (David Bowie Cover)

Have you hear Little Boy in the grass? Idk whats the best version to listen to, but that song moved me every time. When I found out what it was about it got new meaning. It is written after the massacre at Utøya, and I think only Aurora could make such a beautiful song, but still with so much depth and sorrow, about something so terrible.

This song seems to be a pure celebration of life and her singing emphasizes the beauty and fragility with soaring high notes that bring the chills you talked about. I've always wondered if this song, written as noted by others when she was a child, is the result of her experience jumping off her roof with an umbrella and trying to fly.

I love it when you listens to her lyrics 👍 I get irritated when people just react to the melody and only reacts to official videos. Cause with Aurora, you just have to listen to what she’s singing about . She wrote Lucky when she was nine, which is quite impressive 😍😍 Aurora about the song: "It's about realizing that you've been through dark tunnels in life, but still walking forward, both feet strong. We are all lucky to be alive, it's an important thing to remember."

I love Aurora, she is true artist and your reactions to her music is amazing. And if I can recommend you something to listen to, I would like to see your reaction to Nightwish and especially to their song The Greatest Show On Earth (live @ tampere). It's quiet different from Aurora, They are symphonic metal band from Finland and the song is 20 minutes long but totally worth the time. And at the end there is a monolog from Richard Dawkins who is ethologist, evolutionary biologist, that gave me new perspective to the phrase "Lucky to be alive" and it's about the odds of us to be even born. So if you have the time and don't know it already give it a try, they are amazing. "We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born The potential people who could have been here in my place But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA So massively exceeds the set of actual people In the teeth of those stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds How dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state From which the vast majority have never stirred?" -Richard Dawkins

I think it will be impossible to understand Auroras creativity and art. How can a 9 year old child write something like this. Another song, that I find hard to accept that can be write by a so young person, is "All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend". She must be in her teens when she wrote this. All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend was a missing tittle track from her first album. She played it for her Warriors & Weirdos when she was in quarantine for some weeks ago. She struggle a little in the start, she forgot how to play it, but after a second try, she is on track. But the lyrics to this song, caught me. But I dont understand how this is possible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5ewd4Bje6dgj9U

4:13 GAHHHH!!!! It always kills me during a reaction video when the person completely misses THE best part of a song. For me....it's the moment here where she sings "that I've been..." where she hits that note on the word "been." It's SO haunting and kinda jazzy. Maybe a major 7th? Not sure....just a guess. But right as she does that....you miss it. :( Reaction videos are my guilty pleasure....but it's damn frustrating when people pause shit or don't pay attention. Oh well...that's my own personal gripe lol. I'm sure you enjoyed the rest of the song. :)
