8:38 Oooh! She just mentioned Unorthodox....the limited series on Netflix. I always love to find out she's seen something I have. It was indeed very good. And just one "season" so....the entire story is wrapped up neatly. It's very much a story about self-actualization and liberation from conformity and tradition and cultural norms and even family. It's an empowering little tale.

She says that all the time lol.... And I honestly think she's half joking....but only half. She's also said that "music is the most important thing in my life...it is my religion. it's why I exist." So... I think she just finds the whole music industry thing...and keeping up with it...a bit exhausting AND a distraction from being able to focus entirely on creating her own music. She also has a very dry ironic witty sense of humor.... ;) If you listen to the podcast she did called "10 Songs That Made Me" you'll hear her talk at length about a bunch of music that had and has a huge impact on her life. And you clearly get the sense that she knows a lot of music, listens to a lot of music, and loves music. It's just far funnier to be a musician......and say you hate listening to music. lol I think it's more that she LOVES silence....and making her OWN music.

@@avedic im an aspiring professional orchestral musician and uhh i have to agree with her sentiment. I may play flute, but I really DON'T listen to music that much 😭and like she said it "is a bit embarassing." I don't even listen to her music, when i listen to it, I either have to be watching a live performance or singing an instrumental version, i never listen to the studio recordings. when i do listen to music, it has to be something that i can listen to while doing something, or be used for some kind of purpose. not just listening. its very, very strange.

Aurora's music is modern music. So.....yeah. And who is this "they" you speak of? There's a TON of amazing creative inspiring music being made today. It seems your problem is that you don't know about any of it....and apparently ONLY listen to terrible music? Also....the world IS horrible. AND wonderful. And everything in between. It's everything. Maybe take a cue from Aurora herself and focus on the uplifting joyful stuff. Or if you can't help but focus on the negative(trust me, I get it), then at least work on transmuting that pain and fear and ignorance into healing and hope and knowledge...both within yourself, and outside yourself. There is no "they." You are they. I am they. We are they. They is us....all of us. Aurora is they too. They can't ruin her.
