Aurora's Inn (a charming little B&B 🌸) | Sleeping Beauty LEGO Market Adventure build & review

It looks like we're getting a little village for LEGO Disney Princesses this year, all running their own shops / businesses. This set - Market Adventure - has four princess buildings in it - Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella and Tiana. Aurora is running an inn, a b&b for wearing travellers to rest their heads and its so incredibly pretty. We'll investigate the other market stalls soon!
If you've just dropped by, I'm Ellie! Lego is an artistic medium and no matter your building expertise there is something here for everyone. Stick around and I'll build for you while I review new sets and create my own customs (MOCs). I tend to geek out about new pieces, get excited about learning new and interesting building techniques, giggle too much and just generally ramble. I'm easily distracted so things can get a bit hectic, but I'm sure you're down for that.

It's a beignet. Beignet is a type of fritter, or deep-fried pastry, made from pâte à choux, but may also be made from other types of dough, including yeast dough. It sounds like "Ben-Yay"

BEIGNET = BEN-YAY Signatures… Minnie is on there, but not sure it’s Minnie Mouse… because Albert is from Chez Albert the Parisian Restaurant… named after Jamie Bernard’s father Albert who owned a restaurant! So perhaps the other names are related to the designers families/important people in their lives!

It’s been a while since you have watched The Princess and the Frog…because they talk about “Man Catching” beignets! I have a good recipe but…you’d need a deep fryer. Not many households have that. It’s a chocolate beignet recipe because of course! I will have to get this set just for the beignets. Oh and for my minidoll collection. Love the new hair…but the faces are still growing on me too.

Ooh I was questioning the light nougat brick colour but in the end of course it looks good - they’re colour wizards! The key to the inn’s a thing! In younger backpacking days I thought it’d be a nice idea to go to the Isle of Skye on Christmas Day with my travelling buddies, and yes it was a great idea because we got to go around the island with no other tourists BUT the little pub in Portree we were staying at handed us the keys to the inn when we got there on Christmas Eve 😂 maaaaybe it was because it was Christmas and they wanted to be away since everything except the local Indian restaurant was closed, or maybe it was a trust thing or maybe they’d made protection pacts with the local fae and new if our intentions were bad we’d get immediate karma. I’m betting the letter applies to Aurora’s inn: she has all those fairy godmothers to throw out any nefarious types.

Aurora doesn't run an Inn! She's known as "Sleeping Beauty" because she was cursed by an evil sorceress when she was a baby and a good fairy lighted up the curse by turning the dying part of the curse into a deep sleep.

Correct. Also, Ariel does not run an antique shop, and Cinderella does not run a sewing shop. It's all fantasy for the sake of building fun. Quite a whimsical set. I like it.
