You can go through that and figure out which ones are best suited for you . Their Ph numbers are available in Google , though you can contact the community on Instagram as well . If you are working in any of the communities of Auroville, then you get free food & stay in return. If you just want to explore, then you will be charged. You can call up Mr Nikhil - 09790582144 . He owns a hotel & hostel called Time Travellers. You can also check the Auroville website that I mention in the Vlog description , for more stay options.

To begin with , first stay in Auroville for a week or so & in that time , attend all the free seminars for the community you want to join . Free session informations are at the notice boards in Cafes, or ask a local . During the session, talk to them and ask them when can you start volunteering.

With car , you can reach Auroville but to roam around the campus , you have to have an Auto Card that is provided by the hotel you stay in Auroville.
