What's up with all of the hate I am seeing ?? She is blessed because she survived a time that was bad for everyone in the camp and for the people who tried to hide... C'mon now... You people can have a little respect. Just a little...

I had the chance to meet her last year in Westerbork of all places. It was Eva’s first time back there since 1944. She even signed my book.

Anne was a popular girl. Had lots of friends and acquaintances, so it's not unreasonable that there would be plenty of people who thought of her as a friend.

Isn’t it courteous that millions count her as a friend today! She accomplished her dream of becoming a writer and one of the most famous writers to date! RIP Anna your story lives on! ❤️

My daughter and I went and saw her speak and were able to meet her before during a reception. I had bought some copies of the artwork her brother did. When I said what an incredible artist her brother was, she showed me photos of her brother and was so proud of him. She said, Can you imagine my poor mother losing her son and husband. After all she went through she was most worried about her mom. She is so amazing. It is two minutes of my life that are so special and that I will never forget. Also while she was speaking she told of the day when Otto Frank brought over the diary he had found that his daughter had written. It literally gave me chills because at that time there were only three people who knew of The Diary of Anne Frank and I was sitting in the same room with one of the three.

Because of, "The Diary Anne Frank" I was able to understand humanity better. The saddest thing is she didn't survived and wished she did. I know her contribution to the world would have been so much greater. However, we still have her diary that expressed her life may be difficult but she believed "there's good in the world" despite what she was going through. I loved her for everything she represents!

This woman, Eva Schloss, is Anne's stepsister. After the war, her mother and Anne's father married each other, thus making Eva Anne's stepsister.

According to Jacqueline van Maarsen, Eva never knew Anne Frank at all. Jacqueline attempted to set the story straight but no one was interested.

Eva and Anne lived across from each other in Amsterdam. Surely they must have met at one point. As Eva said, they weren't close friends, just playmates.

Eva Schloss is so brave to speak out all she went through under the Nazi party/Germans during WWII. We don't what Ann Frank went through in the concentration camps, she wasn't able to or allowed to keep a diary. Thank god her father survived, and Miep's Gies saved Ann's diary and papers. may they all RIP.

It has been examined by experts. All the sections have been examined, from loose pages to accounting books by handwriting experts that say all the pages were written by the same person. Also, if you use incorrect spelling and grammar, then it is you who looks ignorant.

I guess I'm in the minority when I say I don't find Eva Schloss all that charming. Yes, I'm grateful for any info on Anne. However, just because Eva knew her for a few years, and Otto was her step-father after the war, those things do not make her an expert on the entire Frank family's lives, or their motivations and feelings. I don't think she knew Anne very well at all. Most of Anne's friends were her schoolmates, ( except for Jacqueline van Marsen), because those were the people she saw every day. Anne never mentioned Eva in her diary, not even when she was writing about her past life and school days, once she was ensconced in the Secret Annex, & had all the down-time in the world to do so, which is very odd to me. Eva's recently said that she resented living in Anne's shadow for most of her life ; yet, that is her whole claim to fame. She gets on TV as an "expert" on Anne, her diary, etc, & I don't think she is one. She's very gentle and demure here, but I've seen interviews with her in which she says Otto Frank said so and so, but he really didn't mean it-- HERE'S what he REALLY meant, or thought. ... or, "Anne wrote THIS, but she meant to say THAT". She also complains a lot about Otto spending so much time focusing on the diary, or looking at Anne's old photos, that he basically neglected her. Make no mistake: I have the utmost admiration for anyone who survived ( or , especially, didn't) the horrors of WWII, the Holocaust, and the concentration camps. It's simply that Eva needs to make peace with the whole "Anne Frank is a bigger star than I am and I resent it" thing, IMO, embrace it, and live her final years TRUTHFULLY relating her experiences. If she wrote a book that just detailed her own experiences, with no connection to Anne Frank, and I knew it was out there, I would read it. Because she DOES have a fascinating story to tell. Just please tell it straight.
@holachica26157 жыл бұрын
It is not her job to be charming and gentle. 1. She comes from a different culture, people from Germany and holland have a much more serious disposition than americans 2. Your charm and gentleness is obviously not very genuine as you criticise this woman with no empathy for what she had gone through and the culture she comes from. She is not a hollywood personality striving for your sympathy. Your comment is extremely ignorant. To grant your respect you analyse her the manner in which she talks rather than what she says.
@amandam90497 жыл бұрын
1lricardo read the book she wrote and you'll have quite the different view on her. She does not only exist to tell about parts of Anne's story, but also her own.
@amandam90497 жыл бұрын
She does not exist for Anne. Her mother married Otto while Eva's own brother and father died, so she needed love from Otto and she was in the hospital alone after miscarrying a child because Otto and her mother had to do work connected to the diary. She didn't even want to talk about what she had experienced because of how horrific it was but as she says in her book she later realized how important it was. That's why she's talking on behalf of Anne because tons of people have learned about the holocaust trough Anne. She never claimed to be an expert on Anne, but she knew Otto very well and Otto talked about Anne all the time, sometimes even comparing Eva to her. Your comment is truly ignorant
