You must be very naive to believe anyone who was brought in the gas chamber to get killed there did escape and simply went back to the camp.
@wzukr
@wzukr 6 күн бұрын
The crematoriums were fenced and guarded and you had to slip through the camp fence to get back to the block. The next problem is that the prisoner numbers of the murdered were recorded in the office/registrar office and the prisoner therefore no longer existed. This also applies to this would-be fugitive. EVERYONE would have noticed that she was suddenly back.

Mrs. Levy, thank you for sharing your story, and I am so proud for you that you finally became able to tell it. To release the pain and not hide your past, and to become a Witness is a wonderful thing. Many years ago when my daughter was in junior high school, a teacher told her class that a Holocaust survivor was to speak in a city near us, and we went to hear her. She was one of the people who worked in Schindler's factory and said that she only got in because she was "tall for my age" and her papers could be falsified to be within the age limit. It hit me at that moment that MY daughter was "tall for her age," and if such a horrible time had fallen in our country, the same could be true for her. What happens to one of us happens to all of us, and we must never, never forget.

Her mother died and her father married a very strange woman and together they became revisionists-just edited out big parts of history to suit their delusional lives. My friend was so embarrassed and ashamed that they were convinced the holocaust didn’t happen. I have never met Rachel, and I would be honored and grateful if I did. However, early in my nursing career (Retired now), I once took care of a woman named Rose Zar, who was another survivor. I immediately recognized her name as I own a copy of her book, In the Mouth of the Wolf. She autographed my copy and for the short time I had her in my care, she became one of those patients who made my career my calling. Years later I took care of an elderly gentleman who I noticed his numbered, faded arm tatoo within moments of meeting of him. Such humble people after what they had been through truely inspired me in my profession and my life. God Bless all the survivors and the souls of all those who were lost from this world forever.😢

You're making the assumption based purely on her race that she is somehow linked to what's going on thousands of miles away. It's prejudiced and if the shoe was on the other foot, you'd be up in arms about it. The world is huge and it doesn't revolve around Gaza and Israel. Talking to school kids....they are and they were. An austrian survivor talked to us in the 90s when I was a kid. He was as old as Mrs Levy is today, so he was an adult back then already and he was an old man when he met us. He was strongly built and well spoken, but he cried like a child in front of 30 school kids, when he told us his story. The horrors in those camps they never left any of them. I talked to Germans living close to the camps at the time, who have met and cared for the surviving and freed jewish people, they cried too. Adult man. Every single time. They told me how people died while overeating, since the were already halfway starved. Their bodies weren't able to manage the amount of food. They told us how their bodies were already having necrosis from halfway of dying. It was the greatest horror they have ever seen and they had to spend the rest of their lives knowing that their votes and silence was part of the reason for it. Only sociopaths with a definite lack of empathy are deniers.

It's all thoroughly documented. The only people who deny it or claim it wasn't as atrocious as it was are the very poorly educated and lonely, unsuccessful people desperately seeking attention. They seek a response to receive the attention no one in their real life gives them.

Such a pitty that you Brits didn´t even utilize the quotas for the Kindertransporte which your own authorities allowed you. And the other shame is that you did not save their parenst and siblings of wrong age. The UK did very little for the Jewish refugees. EVIAN CONFERENCE is telling!

My heart just hurts for Rachel and all the victims of this horrendous evil that was perpetuated on them. Have noticed with every victim that I have seen in a video that although they are present and speaking about what they went thru and witnessed, there still seems to be a distance of direct communication, a lack of emotion and I feel it is there on way of protecting there sanity or the only way they can get there point/points across without literally breaking down.

If you don´t know how survivors survived you need to read "The cap - the prize of a life" by the Auschwitz survivor Roman Frister. Then you will know in which ways it happened (their survival). Did you hear about Kapos?

It's truly heartbreaking to see the images and hear the stories of those who endured such unimaginable suffering. The resilience and strength of the survivors are beyond words, and their ability to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society is a testament to the indomitable human spirit. It's deeply troubling that some people deny these atrocities. It's crucial to continue educating and raising awareness to ensure that the truth is never forgotten and that such horrors are never repeated.

Don't forget about all of the regular people who voted the fascists into power. One of the problems about how we learn history as that people are too quick to oversimplify the atrocities of history as the fault of specific evil people, but in reality, the wheel of history is more controlled by what every day people, the masses, are willing to stand for and fall for. Everything from the holocaust to the civiil rights movements can be attributed to what everyday people fell for or stood for.
