Great backing jam track. Not a typical bluesy track, with the F and E major, but very cool. More cool in fact for that very reason. Can work in some of the other notes. More dramatic build up and release.

Might seem like common sense... But I didn't know this for years... If you know your pentatonic scale but sometimes land on the wrong note, start by landing on the note of the chord change. For example, when it goes to G, just find the Gs on the fretboard and you know you're safe. After that, you can expand and learn the triad of G. And those notes will be safe also. I am just learning this so comment if I could have written something better. Thanks
Hey! I'm total new to guitar. I can play the pentatonic scale starting 5th fret to this and it sounds great. Can you tell me what i need to learn to play more?
@TheAlexRecord4 ай бұрын
Learn the other positions of the scale so you can move all around the neck. When you have that, take a look at the modes so you can add more variations! Also try to pay more attention to the chords while you play and try to make them shine with the right notes. With all that you will get to sound way better Good luck!

Why does E major work here before the E7 chord? Since its over Phryigan why are they not minor chords? Confused how the A minor scale works so well?

The thing I find interesting with backing tracks. I like play to with a feeling about something like the beginning of a story book not just notes to play with I find my self lost just soloing
@bobfeather17149 ай бұрын
The A aeolian scale works best for this. Minor pentatonic is OK, but you really need that "F" in there to resolve the progression as it slides down to the E.

Question: Shouldn't the E chord in this progression be Em, given the song is in A minor?
@cicelymetalАй бұрын
It's actually really common to use a major chords in this case when playing the blues. Here in the key of a minor, the 5th chord is E: a(1) b(2) C(3) d(4) E(5) Try actually playing the note G# just before the E7 chord goes back to A minor. Listen and feel for where that note wants to go. Happy practicing! 👍
