The majority of people think an EV is just a normal car with an electric motor in it. You plug it in instead of going to a petrol/gas station. They have no idea about the amount of power needed to recharge the battery at a fast rate. Nor do they account for the giant battery packs need to store all the power. They are ignorant to the fact of the child labor and pollution in making the battery. They do not factor in all the extra electricity that will be needed to run those cars. They think electric just magics itself in your plug and is clean. To them an EV is just another appliance. 'Plug & Go'. But now at least the truth is slowly dawning on them.

I know oil are subsidized 9.000.000.000.000 USD that's 1.000 USD for every human on earth. That a Tesla model S Plaid uses just 4% of the electrictrisity of a house was expected. If you do the math, you will see that he are gaslighting people that wasn't great at school. Hints. A car drives 33,2 km on average in Australia. 350kwh will teoreticaly fill a Tesla model S Plaid in 17 minutts, and with let you drive an average of 15 days. Oil prices are controlled by a corrupt cartel with mostly dictatorships. Those countries wants to kill you, so they use the money on missiles and suicide vests, while driving up the gas prices. So the choice are paying 4% on your electrictrisity bill, or pay for gas a mounth. Electrictrisity are cheaper, and you don't get blown up at the mall.

Many Ford dealers sued because the company was trying to force them into selling EV's which meant that they had to install charging stations which could cost over a million $$ each. And that is IF the local grid had enough capacity to handle the additional load. People were wondering why it would cost so much to install a charging station? You have to install the chargers, the lines to the chargers from a substation that has to be built to supply them and lines from the main grid to the new substation. It's a LOT of work even IF the grid can handle it...which many can not. It's lunacy thinking that EV's can be adopted quickly.

The entire business model is flawed. It seems ever possible stupid mistake was a standard operating procedure in every EV charging model. It began with no standard for connectors and continued with ridiculously complex operation requiring a smart phone and "Apps". One has to wonder why no effort was put into making EV charging as close to a normal vehicle filling station as possible. I have traveled all over America and even in the most remote gas stations, you just pull up to the pump, put your credit card in the slot, the pump is comes to life, you put the standard nozzle from the pump into your standard fuel tank opening and that's it. No need for any "apps" no need for any cellular service or smart phone. Your vehicle isn't required to "link" to anything either. Why is EV charging so different?

He was convicted for financial crimes (embezzled funds for himself from creditors and purposefully didn't pay staff when the bar his parents gave him went bankrupt because he just partied and took money from the till) while he was cheating his way through university. Then he married a young 'star' politician and he was suddenly hired into a private consulting company, which in turn was tasked by the government (a European nation) to be in charge of handing out EV subsidies. He was in newspapers as the face of the government's EV projects, and dished out subsidies for a few years...then he was hired by one of those companies he gave lots of government subsidies to. Economics of EV charging stations: 1) large capital outlay. 2) hope that someone else buys an EV and will use your charging station. 3) high cost of electric, land, hardware, software, technicians to repair charging station. 4) limited number of EVs can recharged measured in hours per car. Cost of starting gasoline filling stations in early 1800s & 1900s: 1) buy a barrel of gasoline and a hand pump. 2) buy ICE vehicle. 3) number of cars that can be refilled is limited by the number of barrels and later the number of pumps measured in cars per hour. 4) when enough ICE vehicles are in a city, then build an expensive gas station.

Easy money. The shares were sold for $2,000 each. They didn't even make enough revenue from the charges to pay for maintence and power, let alone recoup any capital outley. With every charger they installled, the worse their balance sheet got. An easy short sell, free $$$. I suppose its probably really tax payers and super funds that have put the money in my pockets though. Also Tritium was a huge success - the guys who started it raised $2b and got very nice pay cheques and bonuses, they will leave will squillions in their pockets.

There have been a few things throughout history that have lived up to their advertising claims. The Colt Peacemaker, the Winchester repeating rifle, the gasoline automobile, the diesel engine for heavy transport, the jet engine for air travel, just to name a few. There have been many more that have not. Solar panel farms, windmill power farms, and EVs are some of the most notable recent that have not. If the government has to force it on the masses for 'catastrophic' reasons, you can pretty much bet it's a loser!

Just arrived in Soeul, which is the most futuristic city I've ever visited. EV Taxis are all over the place, with the ioniq 5 being very popular. Driver says Ioniq5 is stupidly efficient compared to petrol. So, if a driver here, is happy with his car, then EVs are not a disaster everywhere. But today I reckon I saw, admired, and used close to 10 trillion usd worth of infrastructure, and South Korea is a truly amazing place! Also, everyone i know with an EV in NZ absolutely love them. So it seems eEVs are great if you live in the right place, and you have the right use-case!

Imagine that the power companies get a rebate when they charge others to power ur EV. Imagine that the money you spend on the roads is being diverted to line a politicians pockets. Imagine that the only thing a battery is good for is to DC a powered thing then eventually that battery dies after multiple charges. Imagine that people who think that EVs are good for the environment. When will people just do the basic research and learn about having YOUR OWN opinion on things instead of the woke dooms day thought. I imagine in 20 years from now when I drive my petrol car and think at least I didn't enslaved Africa's young, didn't destroy the planet, and OMG never left as much waste on the planet then the seriously woke.

Where there is choice I choose to avoid interaction with corporations. Even though my car is nearly 40 years old I still seem to get to the same places and at the same speed as the new cars. I refer to it as a 'smart car' because it doesn't tell me what to do, there are no alarms and no engine management computer to fry using remote scanners, and especially no connectivity to satellite GPS tracking revealing my exact position 24/7.
