I think architects would be happy for developers to incorporate this into their workflow. It really illustrates well what is physically and legally possible before any time is wasted try to prove the limitations of their proposals. Time that would be better spent on improved design and building functionality. Their pricing seems fairly reasonable considering what you stand to gain from using at an advanced level. Don't know how popular the sound effects will be in an open office. Pretty hilarious if nothing else.

Haha yes I think the sfx would be banned pretty quickly! Easy way to find who is using the license though I guess... I agree it is a great tool to easily test site studies like maximization yields and form potential yields.

This is great - it takes a lot of the grunt work out of feasibility. I can see firms winning over stakeholders that demand maximum efficiency/ROI. I guess the rsd + dynamo combo is what will allow a bit more personality so not everyone includes the same testfit model in their tender submissions. Honestly this is scary and almost feels endgame. Hopefully architects see this as a supplement and don't get too freaked out.

I know what you mean - given it's just getting started the endgame will be quite amazing I think. I've noticed most traditional architects react negatively (this will be the end of creativity blah blah blah) and then go and proceed to draw up a boxy, boring design in many cases anyway! I agree with your point that this should be a compliment if not supplement to the 'toolbox' we already use to deliver our projects with the right level of informed decision making our clients ultimately deserve from a professional.

honestly I don't think the design process can be eliminated by these tools at all. these are optioneering tools which help search the design space but all real world projects involve lots of constraints/requirments discovery and clarification which can only come about through ongoing iterative discussions among stakeholders. it's the same for any industry (even software development). the tools do remove the manual searching of the design space to some degree but they cannot eliminate the iterative design process that takes place between stakeholders. in general because there's no one size fits all (and if there was for a time it would be ripe to be disrupted before long)

But its really good app though, thanks for your review, and by the way i noticed u are pretty fast when u type i wonder how u learned that
@AussieBIMGuru4 жыл бұрын
I just picked up typing quickly by not using a typequick course ironically! I actually only use 4 fingers when I type as crazy as that seems. I use my second fingers for typing and my fourth fingers for shift/enter. I'll probably have arthritis by the time I reach 40 though, so I have been trying to use more fingers; hard habit to break. When I use ASDF or arrows my fingers naturally jump into gamer posture though, muscle memory!

@@AussieBIMGuru ow really what a config. I thought u used all of your fingers even ur feet fingers 🤣🤣 nyways am juat kinding but am having a hard time to cooperate with my fingers ro type quickly, u know the #properwayoftyping thing, am kind of feeling exhausted, but i think its good to find the best way that works for me like you did... and the WASD config. wow i think it become universal, it remind me some years back in university that i slept while working and friends showed me that my fingers were right on the gaming position 😂

Yeah coworkers usually just watch in awe, the usual response is 'how can something so inefficient be so efficient!?'.

Haha cheesy hey! I like these touches though to some degree, whilst they detract from the seriousness of the impact of the tool they also harken back to my days of old digging for easter eggs in videogames.
