Aussie Bush Harvest

Күн бұрын

This video offers some tips and strategies for hunting Pine plantations which make up a large amount of the State forests we have to hunt in NSW. They're particularly good habitat for pigs and fallow deer and with a bit of research and prep, Hunters can have a lot of success.

That is all you can do mate. Those shots you may fluff just make you concentrate that little bit more the next time. It's the closer shots that I usually stuff up myself as I often take them for granted and don't concentrate enough. Keep the videos coming mate.

Thank you so much for all the tips for deer hunting. I started out hunting with a bow and it was so hard stalking up close enough only to have something go wrong and miss the shot. I then started with the rifle and I have to say I have shot more deer since watching your vids then the 8 years before thank again bud keep up the great work. Keeping it real.

Good stuff mate! Three weeks ago I was in similar terrain when I shot a fox around noon while following a trail through thick pines that had a lot of grouped fallow droppings. Mostly, you see grouped ones in thickets and spread ones on tracks :) I was not desperate for deer so took the fox.

It's the start of a new year and your video has made up my mind to finally go deer hunting. Many of the areas where I fly fish, boarder on pine forests and I often come across deer sign. Driving home at night, there are times when sambar deer burst out of the forest. There's also a lot of deer in the forests near my home although they are most likely in places where hunting is not permitted. I'll have see about getting a suitable deer calibre rifle although the rules regarding using 12 gauge slugs in a sighted shotgun have changed in Victoria. Only a short range proposition at best. Thanks again for your video(s). They have really encouraged me to take this step and go deer hunting. Have subbed your channel. Cheers, Steve

Cheers mate I really appreciate your videos, your knowledge is well received as I'm green as when it comes to this stuff. But constantly learning from guys like yourself , the Hilldog and my favourite Kiwi the Mountain Man. This might sound like a dumb question, I don't know anyone that hunts, so what's the best way to meet people other than joining a club, as I use a bow not a rifle. I'm happy to go solo but I wouldn't think jumping straight in the deep end & going one out is a smart move at all. Is it bad etiquette to ask someone to take you along for your first outting. I want to do what you guys do and only hope to get as pumped as you's do when it comes together. Thanks Profty ur a legend

Easier way to go from satellite to dpi map. Install google earth, download the desired map from dpi website under the google earth section. Then you can just click the tick box off and on. Don’t know that I would have taken that shot, I don’t trust myself off hand. Even though I make sure I practice it.

Tip. If you are hunting pine or spruce plantations invest in a deer dog to track. Fallow deer won't be eating in the blocks. Find the exit entry points where they are coming out to the feed area.
