I don't get how you can be Conq 3, play Malian 1 TC and never attack the enemy. That English guy went 4 TC and had 1 military (his scout) until the 14th min. The Malian had a bunch of military units but never really was a threat with it. So yeah, you might as well have surrendered at 14min, there's no coming back from this. It's basic knowledge that if you don't pressure an enemy with a better economy than you, you lose ...

@@lost524 Japanese are confirmed, the Splash Art of the whole DLC shows a Crusader and in one of the Ingame Screenshots we can see Crusaders (the bucket Helmets are distinct), that's the second. And well, both those Factions have nothing to do with Sultanates, so there must be at least a third or the Person who picked the DLC name is a massive troll.

This was an awful game… the lack of scouting and agression while playing malians was pretty bad.

Starcraft 2 has been slowly but consistently losing popularity both as a game for casual RTS players and as an e-sport/tournament scene. People are getting tired of it. I think AoE4 has a genuine window to become the next "big RTS game". If the expansion is good, plus the devs avoid pointless controversies and keep pumping updates/balance patches regularly, I think it has a good chance to happen.

I like both games but SC2 cannot even be compared to AoE4 in terms of player base, tournaments organized and prize pools. SC2 is very much alive, max 10 seconds to find a game at any time against the 1 or 2 minutes on AoE4. Everyone is hyped up for a future with Stormgate and ZeroSpace. Very few talk about AoE4.

AoE 2 has more players then AoE 4 ever had and is still compared to SC not worth mentioning. AoE is a niche with in a niche and AoE4 is just an other layer with in that niche.

Well, guess I misjudged a few things, I overestimated AoE's current reach. My bad. But still, AoE4 clearly has an opportunity to expand its audience a lot right now, even if it might never become "RTS king" like I implied initially.

@@mnadeau1992 Stormgate will directly compete with SC2. I personally don't think it's going to do as well as people think it will because the theme is kind of weird and it's going to be a turn off for alot of players who prefer a hard sci-fi setting.

I'm excited at the idea of an AoE game becoming a yearly/semi-yearly event in my family once again! It had been a tradition for years and years until recently. AoE4 wasn't quite that game when it came out, but I think it's about at a point where it could genuinely convince my family to get back into it :)

Not giving up easily is generally a good trait for a player, but in this case the game was lost when Faye couldn't deny the Berkshire. Unnecessarily dragging out the game for another 8 mins was poor sportsmanship.
