I am french living in Ireland and found those courses great. I went to OZ in 2006/2007 but in melbourne didn’t get this impression of slang language except in some advertisements, maybe I was all the time with expats speaking ‘regular’ english. Thanks a lot, I haveta listen!

Hi Pete ! Thanks for your constant efforts and determination to conduct these lessons, but I want to ask you how can i understand better the native speakers on the radio - i often listen in car 3AW 693 and while either host or guest in the studio speaking it's quite alright to understand them at least it's feasible task, but if someone on the phone talking politics or anything regarding financial situation or etc - especially sports - that dialogue turns into nightmare - and I have no idea how to improve listening in this case... Especially some of grandma's talking - I think their language is just old style Australian accent or something... Especially I liked the episode about crocodile addicted person who was calling fishermans as a dickheads - your explanation of his speech helped a lot... Please do more episodes like this if it's possible...
