At 30% they have to find $500,000 worth of rough opal to get their season target of $150,000. After you remove the cost of running those machines there ain't gonna be much left between the two of them. I reckon their getting "raw prawned" by the 70 /30 split.

Yeah mate for sure not wrong, I know if I was using my own machines and diesel. I wouldn't be making a deal at 70/30 split. They are getting ripped off.

I think the claim owners they work for pay for the fuel cost and stuff dont they? I remember an episode where they almost got fired till they got a nice find. The owner wouldn't give them more fuel to work until so.

the old saying, "Beggars can't be choosers" comes to mind...at least they are doing what they enjoy doing and that's more than I can say for my 71 years.

That 70/30 split seems like a ripoff, they do all the work and spend all that money on diesel fuel and other expenses, and only get 30 percent!!!!!

So wait a sec. They use their own machines, pay for all the break downs parts oil gas and are only getting like 25 percent. What a rip. They aren't getting Jack in money after all the expenses.

Weird seeing Australia so Green, I know the Floods are Catastrophic but the Land surely needed it after so many years of Droughts.

Those opal stones were huge…..just massive. The colors looked really cool too. The way the sunlight would reflect off the blue/green colors👍 It’s a shame you have to dig so much to just find a little bit of opal
