this is where it's at: take a piece of rye bread, pop in the toaster until it's a good brown, like almost lowkey burnt but not really? THEN, as soon as it's out of the toaster, apply a medium amount of margarine or butter and it should easily melt right into the toast. blend the vegemite until you have a gold medium brown with some dark bits here and there. Don't cut the toast just take a fat bite and BOOM, vegemite done right

My whole family does cheese toast with worstershire sauce on top after the cheese is melted. I think it comes from my grandpa's British side and probably because vegimite and brown sauce weren't big in Canada but this still has the fermented salty flavor.

Tea is VERY Australian! The younger generation has grown up in the coffee culture so they reject tea, but for the rest of us, tea is the go to and coffee is a special event.
