Celebrating 10 years as one of the world’s leading shipbuilders in 2022, Austal Philippines has completed an impressive 20 commercial vessels for 12 operators from 11 countries; including award-winning high-speed ferries that are setting new benchmarks for performance, comfort, seakeeping and operability.
In additional to commercial vessels, Austal Philippines has the capability and capacity to design and construct a range of naval ships including patrol vessels, for domestic and international fleets; based on proven Austal platforms operating in Australia, the United States and around the world.
Located in Balamban, Cebu, Austal Philippines has already delivered a diverse range of innovative, high-speed craft including passenger ferries, vehicle passenger ferries, crew transfer vessels for offshore operations and wind farm vessels.
Building upon the success of recent deliveries, including the 118 metre trimaran ‘Banaderos Express’ to Fred Olsen Express of the Canary Islands, and the 109 metre catamaran Fjord FSTR, to Fjord Line of Norway, the shipyard is currently constructing the largest high-speed aluminium ferry ever built in the Philippines; a record held twice, previously by Austal Philippines.
‘Express 5’, for Molslinjen of Denmark, is a true, ‘future-ready’ fast ferry that may be fitted with hybrid fuel-saving technology that provides a genuine pathway to net-zero emissions. The new vessel will offer unrivalled passenger comfort and vehicle carrying capacity, with superior seakeeping capability through Austal’s Motion Control System and operating efficiency gained by Austal’s proven MARINELINK technology.
Austal Philippines’ skilled local workforce of more than 800 employees is supported by an established, global supply chain and a leadership team with expertise in all aspects of modern shipbuilding - including project management, engineering and design, procurement, manufacturing, commissioning, testing and in-service support.
Austal Philippines’ advanced, modular shipbuilding techniques and modern facilities offer operators a comprehensive yet economical solution for any commercial or naval vessel acquisition project - in aluminium or steel.
Austal Philippines’ largest assembly hall is 120 metres long, 40 metres wide and 42 metres high; allowing large vessels to be constructed undercover, 24/7. This ensures industry-leading productivity and efficiency that results in reduced costs and faster construction times for customers.
Austal Philippines is a success story that continues to evolve and impress; with proven local capability and expertise - backed by the strength of the global Austal shipbuilding group, renowned for innovative maritime design and technology.
There is no better time, or shipyard, to advance new commercial or defence maritime projects in South East Asia; partner with Austal Philippines now to add value to your business, fleet and operations.

Unfortunately Austal was taken out of the running for making the OPVs for the Philippines due to an increase in pricing. Hopefully they can still for the PN new requirements for carrying troops and military equipments with helipads.
