Great video showing a good point of view of what it’s like to drive. I’m carrying out a mechanical restoration on a 10 Cambridge at the moment although my patience is wearing thin having waited nearly 4 months so far for my engine to be machined at an engineer’s workshop. Looking forward to eventually driving it! 🥳

Thank you I brought this one in 2011 and fully restored it. Had 10 years of fun driving around Essex and Suffolk. I sold the car about six months ago to help finance a new project. I now have a 1952 Austin Sports. Link to another video of restoration. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKqWnWNpZ7-Eqs0

What a lovely thing.....I hadn't noticed before that the rear view mirror echoes the shape of the back windows. Wonderful!

I drove one of these in the 1980s, complete with trafficators and 36-watt solenoid-dipping headlamps. The Girling rod-operated brakes needed adjusting every week, and if I was so rash as to brake when going downhill on a wet road it suddenly felt as if all the wheels were different shapes. The twin 6-volt batteries were under the front seats (with no covers over them, because they were bigger than the originals), and the control-box was inside the car where I could kick it when it went wrong as it constantly did. I once reached an indicated 58mph on the flat. Eventually the clutch burned out, and as I was about to move and could not take two cars with me I sold the Cambridge as it was to a man from the Irish Republic; he told me that the only legal requirement there for a car of this age was that it should have a lamp at each corner.

Enjoyed the video, what is the clutch like, mine is very sharp. Owned a Lichfield many years ago can't remember the clutch being so sharp on that

It’s not to bad , easy to drive. I owned this car for 12 years and sold it about a year back. New project to play with instead

I'm thinking about getting one after I learn to drive, but I worry, as I've read that they're somewhat flimsy and virtually disintegrate when crashed. Is this true?

Too fast for country roads.

Glpi lpi The wide angle lens on the camera has approximately double the field of view as the human eye. This has the effect of exaggerating the apparent speed by about double.. So what looks like 60mph is more like 30, well within the safety envelope for a 1930's family car.

Lol after driving mine yesterday i can assure you that 30mph is a good speed and and well within the limits. These cars were never fast when new just a good small family saloon . Amazing what the camera can do
