Tom in my humble opinion the panel work you've done is exemplary on this body! Secondly your vision of the shape and execution is what makes the car and makes you an artist as well!

So good, and frankly refreshing after watching many other KZbinrs' videos where few safety measures are taken, to see you looking after your hearing and setting a fine example regarding PPE. Wonderful work, too!

Speechless, I love working in metal but sheet metal work has always scared me. The skill and ease you shape the panels is unbelievable. Can’t wait for the next video. Well done Tom, superb. 😊

Really like the car, extra cowl idea has grown on me since watching the video, but a single headlight? Anyway great stuff, your car, do what you want, can't wait to see more.
@Pete-z6e17 сағат бұрын
Quite a few historic cars have a single headlight and they look surprisingly good! To my eyes anyway.

And I wasn’t disappointed! Fabulous work as always Tom, I love the cowl, might have to get used to the apron though. Bit too busy with the louvres?

That body is looking fabulous, especially the nose. I'm not sure about the idea of the cyclops light. I know that was popular in period, but it is not a style I like. However, I will reserve my judgement until I see your interpretation of it. Thank you for sharing with us. I am really enjoying your project. Excellent work.

Thank you neal 👍 can’t please everyone with what I’m doing but I think as I’m not having and cycle wings it would looks messy and spoil the lines. By having one light it keeps it tidy. 👨🏭

Stunning work Tom! Someone may correct me here, but I can't think there will be many people in the UK that can pull off metalwork to that standard. I know about Geoff Moss, bit of a legend, but still, really well done mate.
@Metal_shaper_tom22 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the compliment but there are actually quite a few in the uk. Geoff is good but there are some even better. Instagram is the place to see it all.

Hello I’m also fitting a reliant engine in my special. How did you fit the clutch,brake and accelerator pedals. Also what steering box is it you’re using? Thank you, Andy.
@Metal_shaper_tom20 сағат бұрын
I haven’t finalised it yet as it still needs some work. I’ve got the later style steering box. Should all be in a previous video 👨🏭

Outstanding metal working again. One question I have... what grade of alloy do you use for this and do you have to anneal it while you're working it at all?
@Metal_shaper_tom16 сағат бұрын
Thank you Pete 👍 I use 1050, no I don’t have to anneal it at all. You can do quit a lot with it before you would have to do that. I know others use 3003 but that’s much harder!
@The_Cotswold_Engineer16 сағат бұрын
@Metal_shaper_tom thanks Tom, ah yes 1050 is nice and soft. I tend to use more structural alloys which don't like forming, like 6082, but for a loads of brackets for my Velomobile I used 5083 which can be cold formed.
