Best thing to happen to American music this century!

It's such a goddamn good song. Could listen to this on repeat for hours. I can't even identify correctly what the subject and/or theme of the song is, but the lyrics are so engaging and the music is just .... mmmmm, so soo good.

Great musicians take the common palette of harmony, melody, and rhythm, but always find new ways. TWOD has succeeded in creating something new.

That's how crowds at shows here in Austin lately. They just stand there, motionless, straight faced. Since about 2009 it's been that way.

Brittany Bowlin never been to Austin but saw the same performance in my neck of the woods or capital of my country “Ottawa “. Front crowd was the best but heat stroke forced me miss half the set . I heard it from a safe distance and was still enjoying it Crowd was chill for the style they play .

"Red Eyes" Come and see Where are we This everything On my knees To beat it down To get to my soul I guessed my way Anyone can tell it's you coming But baby, don't mind Leave it on a lie Leave it your own way Come and ride away It's easier to stick to the earth Surrounded by the night Surrounded by the night And you don't go home But you abuse my faith Losing every time but I don't know where You're on my side again So ride the key wherever it goes I'll be the one, I can't, whoo! You're all I've got to wait You're running in the dark When I come to my soul Try and see it through the dark It's coming my way Well we won't get lost inside again babe Am I right? no one sees you, anyone, around here waiting They don't mind, they don't hear; I hear For the best way-oh, you're mine, against it I would keep you here, but I can't Oh, I am trying to see the right, right way, And I don't see it anywhere I go, yeah... woo! She's on my side again The easy way I come to my soul Walking in the downtown Talk to my soul They won't get lost inside again On my way I can see it the darkness coming my way Well we're here Don't get lost inside Yeah you won't get lost inside at all You're on my way Woo!

I love these guys! They're great musicians, but that solo drumming technique.....I don't know about that (at the beginning). Does he not want to be there? I have never seen that before.....the one stick on the drum every now and then. What is that all about? It just looks rather odd. He finally gets going later on, but, wow! It's perplexing to like drum with one hand, that's all.
@tg44147 жыл бұрын
You can hear faintly in the background how he's playing along to a drum machine. The studio version has that faint, rolling drum part that he's trying to emulate along with that drum machine.

You can see the drummer do the same thing just playing the hi-hats when they perform An Ocean In Between The Waves

It just looks kind of weird, esp when you're used to the incredible Roger Taylor of Queen, like me, going all out, expending every last drop of energy and enthusiasm, to get the best, most passionate of sounds. I mean they sound super, don't get me wrong. But why have "drum machine" while live? But, thank you for the clarification. 😃

Atonal... against a tonal progression... beautiful tension. For real music fans check out the great Scot-Irish group the Waterboys from 1983's A Pagan Place, or 1985's This Is The Sea or even 1987's A Fisherman's Blues... Mike Scott's brilliant atonal vocals set against glorious wall of sound horn sections... this is some of WODs heritage

@@7flies4U Those brass arrangements! Pagan Place & Church Not Made With Hands both are powerfully uplifting songs, as is the heartfelt song This Is The Sea. Still love the Waterboys. I can't wait for what War On Drugs does next as well!

@@hotelfoxtrot4979 I'm especially carried by drums and guitars but yes the brass are great in A Pagan Place! I wonder which kind it is. You got me curious with that word (I am francophone) so I had to google and found 7 brass. The War on Drugs might come up with a new album release after this crazy covid-19 who knows.
