I wish I could find whoever disliked this and punch them in the face. Austin was what, 14 when he recorded this? Maybe 15? I met him the summer after he recorded this, in 2005, before it was even released. He became one of my best friends for a few years. I miss him dearly.

Oh wow. You knew Austin? That's awesome I had no idea. Also. 15?! That's crazy. I recently got into his stuff. Haven't been able to stop listening to it. I've mainly been listening to Endless Planets. That second track is incredible. Condolences for your loss.

@@afrotrumpet2246 Thanks! Yes, he was an insane musician. We met at a random jazz jam and became quick friends. We hung out a lot during his high school years, played together quite a bit. I learned a ton from him in the short time he was here. Endless Planets is a beautiful album on so many levels. I remember he showed me the sheet music to "Capricornus" and I told him he was crazy lol. He asked, "do you think anyone will be able to play this?" We looked at each other and were like, "Zane!" When I heard this album a couple of years later it rocked my world. Sometimes I can't believe that both Zane and Austin are gone now. I'm still inspired by them both. Glad you've found Austin's music!

Just found out about Austin. His take on Maiden Voyage is so upbeat, clean and new. It's a damn shame he isn't around anymore. 100 of these views are probably from me alone.
