Firstly, gotta say thanks to Ralph for letting Austin and I play this one. It was so much fun, Austin and I were amazed at every corner by spectacular bosses and insane environments whilst also both pissing our pants in losomn at giant rat monsters. I put in about double the hours playing as Austin did, mostly replaying levels we cleared so I could get more fat loot for testing builds and so as not to spoil the next world for myself or him. One of the unlockable classes was found to be hidden in the game files as well. Like, the devs knew people would data mine the game, and gave instructions how to unlock a class only in there. @fyrein2236 Жыл бұрын
@@originalityisdead.9513 It's unfortunate that you're having performance issues but sadly that's the reality of modern PC gaming. Devs can try their hardest to make it run as best as possible on a variety of hardware but there's truly an astonishing amount of hardware combinations that people might have, so they can't account for everything right away, they can only try and fix problems as they arise. That's not to say that's the only reason a game might be running poorly, though; you're definitely right that this particular game runs a bit ass sometimes for me and others, even with beefy setups.

As an avid follower of Ralph's reviews and a fellow enthusiast of gaming, I was excited to see Austin stepping in to cover the newly released game. It's always refreshing to hear different perspectives. First and foremost, I want to acknowledge that the game being reviewed, despite not being perfect, is truly amazing. I've been playing it myself since early access, and its qualities are undeniable. Now, it's important to recognize that Austin and Ralph work closely together, which might naturally lead to some similarities in approach and tone. As a team, their collaboration could influence each other, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. During Austin's review, I couldn't help but notice that he seemed to be trying a bit too hard to emulate Ralph's signature style. While it's natural to look up to someone you admire, I believe that true greatness lies in embracing one's individuality and unique voice. I do want to applaud Austin's effort in providing a balanced assessment of the game's strengths and weaknesses. His love for gaming is evident, and I appreciate his dedication to creating engaging content for the audience. Nevertheless, I believe that allowing his genuine passion and personality to shine through would elevate the review to even greater heights. The game's appeal speaks for itself, and Austin has a fantastic opportunity to offer a fresh perspective that will complement Ralph's well-established style. Embracing his own voice will not only make his reviews more authentic but also add valuable diversity to the gaming community. I encourage Austin to continue sharing his insights and experiences with the game, while also exploring his own unique approach. Being true to oneself not only benefits the content creator but also resonates more profoundly with the audience. I look forward to witnessing Austin's growth as a reviewer and experiencing the evolution of his distinct voice in future reviews. With such an incredible game to discuss, the potential for captivating and insightful content is undoubtedly immense. P.S.: come on "what are you feeding your artists?" really??? in what world does dietary habits has any consequence on artistic prowess??? sorry I couldn't help but to call it out... sorry XD

I found most bosses extremely unfair in veteran mode but that led to me and my friends being stuck on bosses for hours having to develop strategies to make the most out of our archetypes and improve our teamwork. This only made finally defeating the bosses very rewarding and turning it into a celebration with your friends. Play this with friends if you can
@doomdoot6731 Жыл бұрын
The only boss I actually found unfair on Vet (in my campaign, so first playthrough) was the final one. All the others were mostly fine, just, well...hard. Although I've now hit upon Abomination (one of the bosses shown in the vid) with Hearty and Empathy on Nightmare Difficulty and by god that is just brutal. That being said, the mutators on bosses and elites can make for a really fun strategic element. Especially once the boss hits the Empathy mutator and you somehow have to communicate to your randos to not use Relics to heal.
@Lemoncit0 Жыл бұрын
@@doomdoot6731 unfair doesn't necessarily mean hard. The bosses were hard but not as hard as some souls bosses. By unfair I mean there were a lot of attacks that you cannot dodge and sometimes it's impossible to revive a teammate because the boss is following your friend on the floor

@Zach-wu8vz Жыл бұрын
I think the hidden class thing is problematic. I don't see most people wanting to play through this more than one or two times, and even if you do find the hidden class you want in one of those playthroughs, you prolly won't have it fully leveled until the very end. At that point most people will be done with the game.
@dembolicalk229 Жыл бұрын
@@Zach-wu8vzI think you are very naive if you think most will only play 1 - 2 times through, this game has way more incentive for multiple playthroughs than a vast majority of games. Not to mention once you discover a class you can start as that class on a new character, so if you want a fresh playthrough with a new play style it's easy to do, especially since guides exist. There are hundreds of hours of content just in the base game and three dlc's are coming.

I hope Austin keeps getting to do reviews here and there even once ralph comes back. I've followed this channel since nearly he beginning, and I gotta admit, my dude clearly has some burnout going on. It's grown tiresome seeing every game that's not some indie sidescroller getting trashed lmao. Been a breath of fresh air watching someone else having fun.

The reckoning when Ralph gets back is going to be interesting. Sincerely though, I really hope he's getting everything he needs from his time off, and I would seriously appreciate a continuation of the Austin content.

I unironically prefer Austin at this point. Hope you continue making videos!

I have a lot of respect for Ralph and the SkillUp brand, specially for his generally unbiased and not commercially tied to anyone opinions, but even then I was not expecting such a good Review from Austin, I loved this review

I bought this game entirely on Austin's recommendation and I know I will love it. Thank you blessed Austin.

Losomn 🏆 specially the hounted area. They kind of gave us Bloodborne 2 with that entire world.

Maxing out at 60 trait points is killing the longevity for me but I had fun beating the campaign twice and it is fun while it lasts.

wohoo! Remnant is one of my favourite franchises. glad you enjoyed it! feel free to edit out the other guy when he gets back, cut out the middle man and all that.

This game is so insanely overrated. Every aspect of the game is generic. Gunplay, classes, dungeons, bosses, enemy types, mutators, story, worlds. I genuinely don't get the hype. It's as basic as it gets imo. Nothing special whatsoever. Also, the whole procedural thing is so overblown. Ends up being the same thing over and over again and over again. No reason to play it more than once either. And fuckkk the tutorial is a terrible start to a pretty boring generic game.

I feel like the "Souls with Guns" is unfair, for me it felt like a "third person lovecraftian Destiny like" personally enjoy these games much much more than Souls or Elden Ring, the crunchy feel to the combat and weapons.

LETS GOO ANOTHER AUSTIN REVIEW
@gillessooben Жыл бұрын
DO NOT PLAY ONLINE WITH STRANGERS. Sorry for the all caps but this is an important warning. My second archetype is gone and it seems I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. Picking up a trait book will send you in negative trait points and apparently resetting traits using an orb will not work. This issue is said to be due to people using trainers on PC. Backup your saves because I am on ps5 and now I'm stuck until a patch fixes the issue hopefully. Was just one level short of maxing out the archon too...

Okay shill up jokes aside, Austin killed it....I'd love an "Austin's thoughts" segment in either core reviews or week in gaming in the future. He's clearly capable.

Just wrapped up the campaign last night and immediately jumped into re-rolling my world. Can’t get enough of this game, and even with Zelda & FFXVI, I think Remnant 2 is my GOTY! Completely shocked by this game. Can’t wait to keep playing/discovering, and can’t wait for DLC, bring it on.
@MMACinephile Жыл бұрын
What would you rate those three games?
@MalibuRacer102 Жыл бұрын
All very different games but if I HAD to give ratings to them, probably and 8/10 for FFXVI, and 9’s to Zelda and Remnant. All three are phenomenal games!

For solo newbies to the franchise, or for people planning to start on veteran (second dificulty) I would encourage you to think about medic over handler. Flying bosses, which there are plenty, are very hard for the dog. With medic, you start with a healing skill AND can re-charge your dragon hearts (aka flasks) once you do a certain amount of healing. I played the first game and decided to start on vet since I wanted a challenge and I dont think I would have had as good of an experience if I didnt start medic. Also starting LMG go brrrrrrrr
@andreasheinze9685 Жыл бұрын
Both have their pros and cons though. Handler is amazing for mobbing because the dog not only tanks like a champ but also deals respectable damage. Challenger is another class to consider as the free revive is also amazing and can be the deciding factor if you have to start a level from the checkpoint or die to a boss. I went for challenger and later picked handler as a secondary and it was super effective. Haven't tried medic yet, but I'm sure it's very good as well.

Fun "Fact": The difficulty options dont just change how hard enemies hit, it will change around encounters so less adds spawn in fights or mechanics for bosses. I haven't confirmed this in game, but it's what I've heard from an animator on the game.
@davidarismendi2015 Жыл бұрын
Not gunna lie the whole time i was watching this I thought the main main guy from always had changed his mic or something to explain the slight change of voice. I was blown away when I read the comments and realized this was a completely different person reviewing. The cadence was on point.
