Oh how I miss the food trucks in Austin. They are some amazing ones you could not even imagine all over that town. I use to love a truck that was parked about a block away from Seaton Hospital. I would go every morning when my mom was in the hospital. Next time you go to Buc-ee's you gotta try the Fruit Kolaches. A German pastry and love to eat for breakfast. Big and soft buttery dough with not too sweet fruit filling. Original to the hill country area of TX. They use to be all over but now a days it is harder and harder to find them. Franklins looked so good. I always recommend Blacks. But south of Austin about 30 minutes; in it original location in town called Lockhart. They have lines of people too. After eating some brisket I always get a whole smoked chicken to take home on my drive to south TX. The town of Lockhart has always been about BBQ. Their are many joints their. It is always a competition as to who is the best in town. So it fun to try all the places out. Every place has tons of cars parked out front so you know it all must be great.

We live right in the middle between Austin and San Antonio. As a matter of fact we're headed to Austin tomorrow. If you make it to San Antonio check out La Panaderia. They were on USA Today's 10 best artisan bakery list. The Broadway location is right across from the River walk. Their tequila almond croissant is to die for!

Loved seeing the Buc-ees haul. Have you been to H.E.B.? Someone got some of their freshly made tortillas from there. They looked and sounded really good. Of course, you can get freshly made tortillas in CA too, but I guess they are known for them. Happy you got to try Franklin's again.

Regular gas price in LAS VEGAS, NV,, $3,79.9 per gallon at Smith"s gas station. Currently in Tacoma, WA,, $3.69.9 per gallon at Fred Meyer store gas station. Both stores owned by Kroeger Corp.. Gas in Texas should cost less as the entire state drills and produces oil.

I've been to Franklin's and in Socal, you MUST try Ray's BBQ in Huntington Park. They model themselves after Franklin's and I would say 95% as good. The next best is Heritage BBQ in San Juan Capistrano. Michelin Bib Gourmand
