Also how do you record the audio to the guitar? Is there a specific program you use?

As for the hardware necessary to do it the way I do it, you need a USB interface to plug your guitar into, which then plugs into your PC. From there the software I use is called "Reaper". That's the recording software I use. The amp sim I use in Reaper is called Bias FX. Bias FX is how I get all my tones.

Oh and the USB interface I use is the Line 6 GX. It's out dated as fuck but it gets the job done.
