this worked on my snapper kawasaki motor!!! thanks, the trick is to take a wire brush wire and clean out that airscrew hole, mine was seriously plugged and worked on it for about 30 minutes, should be able to advance wire 1/8-1/4 inch into that hole, turned airscrew back and forth while advancing wire, when it gets stuck in there you know it is deep enough, then spray the carb cleaner. main jet body had a few hole plugged, great video!!!

Great tip! I'm glad the video helped you get your machine running. I own a Snapper Commercial with the Kawasaki engine. I can only guess that it must be 30-something years old. A customer gave it to me, rather than put in the landfill. It was missing the transmission and all the parts for the gear change/slider/drive wheel system, no throttle cable or lever assembly, or drive engagement cable, and the bearings pulleys and belt for the side drive engagement area were either missing or failed. I rebuilt it, and it's been my go-to for 4yrs. Was using it today. I also have a Honda HRC216 HXA K1 (first generation of the HRC215 Commercial Mower) that I've restored, but the Snapper is the one I always use. I've never seen a mower with more suction/vacuum action, or that bags so much debris.

May I ask you what screwdriver you used for that main jet? That carburetor looks similar to the one on my HRN216VYA. I found a screwdriver bit that is specified to be 3/16" wide by .031" thick. It fits very well but I would much rather have a one piece screwdriver for the better feel. I. think they call those screwdriver blades "hollow ground" meaning they have no taper. Gunsmiths prefer that type.

Always a challenge to find screwdrivers that fit carb jets well! I'm using a hollow ground screwdriver for Kawasaki carbs. For other carbs, like on Honda mowers, I wound up making a screwdriver out of an old hard plastic, red handled Mac screw driver. It's their long reach screwdriver. I use their long reach phillips all the time for other applications, and have for decades. I have quite a few videos on how to clean the carbs found on Honda mowers, which will help you more than this video.
